Finally opened up the Booker's. This is without a doubt one of my favorite pours ever. I'm going to have to read up on the tasting notes, because whatever it is that I'm tasting here, I love it.

VOB BIB tonight. im determined to clear out some partials before anything else comes in, so about 200mL of VOB BIB and 150mL of OGD BIB need to be gone through before i allow myself to buy anything new. plus, i got tired of looking at the foul Old Overholt on the shelf and dumped it today. one more bottle gone. i was never gonna finish that crap anyway.

plus, im celebrating the end of another semester today, with an 'A', so the pours are a little bigger......

Well, it's after midnight, so it's officially the 4th of July. The OGD 114 in my hand seems to be an appropriate drink.

Hung out with some SBers tonight and drank FR SmB, ND OGD BiB, Stitz Old Fitz BiB, WTRB, OWA and now capping the night with some ND OGD 86 while listening to all the fireworks going off in my neighborhood.

In the rotation for Independence Day, Eagle Rare and WT101. (Ben Franklin thought the turkey should be our national bird.)

Good man. My choices would be the same but I haven't seen either of those in a long time.

Good job with the academics! Also, I have a lot of respect for people who dump crappy whiskey. I've dumped 6 or 7 bottles in the last year, including old, expensive stuff, because, like you wrote, there was just no way I was going to torture myself by trying to finish them.

Tasting flight at the TWS meeting last night was EC12 barrel pick, Ezra Brooks 12yr sb, and VWFR 12yr lot B.

My little group followed that up with a WTAS, then a 4RSBLE 2013 and finished with a High West 21ye Rye. A long and enjoyable evening with good friends and good whiskey. Happy 4th everyone.

Good times sailor.

I have the rest of a PVW15 sample, PHC 2010, ORVW 107, and OWA '05 on the table along with some beer. Just waiting for the pork butt.

Happy 4th of July! Please don't drink and drive.

Enjoying some of America's Native Spirit named after an American original-Elmer T. Lee.

Happy Birthday America and here's a raised glass to those who serve her.

Big time food, solid but not spectacular alcohol...Sazerac Rye and George Dickel. I will follow up with a little WL12 while watching the fireworks. Oh, the food....spectacular...home smoked baby backs with mesquite rub and bbq sauce for lunch followed by grilled Nathan's hot dogs and jalapeno relish for dinner.

Shared some ND Old Crow earlier and now I'm killing the last of a Binny's 8yr Willett.I have to say the best part of today was sharing a few pours with my father on a perfect July day.

Enjoyed some VOB 86 and BIB earlier in the day and killed a CNB OWA while watching the fireworks. The rain we had earlier in the day thankfully ended so the pyrotechnics could proceed in all their glory!

Yesterday I had two Four Roses single barrel selections: 10 year and 9 month OESO and 9 year 5 month OBSK. OBSK is usually my favorite Four Roses recipe, but yesterday the fruity sweetness of OESO, especially in the nose, was really working for me and it was the more enjoyable of the two.

Blanton's and then ER10--both neat and then with just a drop of water. Today, the ER is hitting all the right spots. Rich, full mouthfeel and a marvelous finish after the appropriate Kentucky chew. Sometimes the Blanton's (or whatever) tastes better. I never blame the bourbon for how my palate is responding on any given day.

Flask...dang great idea! Yessir, it's gonna be soggy. What number do you have? I'm 65,000something...

I was in group A. 47.53. If I had carried the flask it would have been faster. I drank me some EC BP after the race to celebrate indepence day

Well done! When they start allowing me to ride my bike, I might approach 47:53. :D I did my ECBP after the race...for the pain.

BT followed by FRYL. This is the order in which they taste the best. The elegance of the BT carries over to the FRYL. When FRYL is first, it's harsher and the stronger rye flavor causes the BT chaser to seem muted, despite the higher proof. Sadly, this was a last pour for BT.

WTRR 10 yr 101 out in the garage listening to the Braves on the radio...while the rain returns by the bucketful...BOOOO

The more I drink great old Turkey, the more pissed I get over their current state. Damn, they can be so, so, good.
