Crowes, I need more friends like your friend.

On a related note, is it just me or is High West Rendezvous Rye the most delicious of God's creations? I can't believe I didn't take the HW journey before!

Vacationing down in Disney with the family this week and after 3 days of theme parks I needed a pour or two. I had small pours of FR Rutledge OESO 12yr 10mo, ECBP 132.4, and WTRR SB...the OESO and the WT were hitting for me...the EC not so much.

I have a 10k to run early tomorrow morning, which is already going to hurt due to a piss-poor training regimen due to a variety of piss-poor and lame excuses ....So, going to have to go light, tonight. FRYL over crushed ice would seem to fit that role....Yep.

OF 86, followed by some VOB BiB - Happy 4th, everyone, and good luck in your 10K tomorrow Joe ...! (I'm entertaining my two kids, and their 9 cousins, ages 3-9 the next two days - that's my 10K ...)

Thanks, Mark. Your event sounds more like an Ironman....or, an MMA bout. :D

Likely will start as an Ironman, and devolve into an MMA bout by Saturday ...

So, seriously..... is FRYL any better than Jim Beam 7yr old White Label?

It costs more around here than Beam and I've been a little hesitant to try it since I have seen very few comments here about the yellow label.

Thanks for any comments.

Personally, I'd take that 7 yr JBW any day of the week over the FRYL. Much better mouthfeel and fuller flavor. The 4R is a nice and light Summer sipper, though. The 7 yr Beam may be one of the least talked about and under appreciated bourbons around. I am a big fan of it.

Joe I respect you running a 10k. I just turned 40 and if you see me running you had better follow me because something BAD is going on behind me!!! My running days are over.

Having some BT Experimental 17y 7m it's good but ER 17y is better.

I am with justataste, thanks for the insight. Coming from you, this is a nice recommendation. I will have to give it a try!

A Weller 12 and the only soda I ever mix it with: Blenheim's Red Cap Ginger Ale. I can't feel my lips.

killed EC18 and GTS on its way out. 2nd time this year I killed an EC18 and GTS on the same night. listening to Cactus, Tom Morello, Toni Iommi while trying to organize stuff for putting floors down. not sure what the organization will look like tomorrow. maybe I should have had dinner first?

I can imagine. The only rye I have is Rendezvous and I can't seem to locate Ritt or Baby Saz. My rye knowledge is limited other than those, but that's a story for another day.

Nice pour of WTRRSmBSB. Funny the mention of JB WL 7yr, as I've seen tons of that around Tulsa. Not much else, but a lot of that.

Town fireworks earlier tonight. Laid on my back next to DW on a rather lush baseball outfield (they never had ballfields this nice around here when I was playing as a kid; this one was just totally redone) and watched the pretty explosions right overhead. Happy 4th of July!

Sitting on the porch relaxing with WTRRSBSB tonight, on the rocks. This bottle may steadily pour out over rocks until it's gone, and I'm loving every minute of it.
