I kinda wanna try the BOTM, the JW Dant.....but from all the jokes I've heard about it, I kinda expect it to fall into this category. Maybe that and Mellow Corn should be my next. I don't expect much from either, but maybe I'll be rewarded.

Some of the board think Ten High is ok, so you never know until you try it. Good luck on your test in the a.m. Maybe you and your wife can celebrate with a burger and bourbon lunch!

Picked up a bottle of WTRB for the Thanksgiving Holiday, and it's just giving me fits. Or probably more accurately put, my palate just can't draw a bead on this whiskey. Each time I pour it, it's "Bad", it's "Good", it's "Wretched", it's "meh", and tonight...it's "Fabulous". Really nice char filled, leathery, big WT flavor. Tomorrow??? Who the heck knows.

Ive only had the WT101 and the WTRB, but both were just 'good' to me. Not great, not bad, just good. Not something I've bought again, though.

I cant wait to see what the fat guy brings me for xmas!

You might be surprised at Mellow Corn. You seem to like the Heaven Hill house flavor. I love Mellow Corn myself. I'd always have it on hand if I could get it without driving 80 miles roundtrip.

My best friend was diagnosed with melanoma yesterday. Canceled work to be with him and cracked open a ORVW 23yo decanter. A toast to the fight and we will revisit after each milestone. Cant think of a better person to share it with. Great bourbon to ease a shitty situation. Love you and your family Trav.. tim

What an occasion and tribute to your friend to open such a grand bottle. You are truly a great friend. Good luck to your friend.

Having a good pour of OFBB13 again tonight. I am truly enjoying this bottle. This has been all I want to sip on the past few days.

Regular four roses single. It's like a cherry cordial. If you don't have one open, go get one. It's delightful!

A pour of J W Dant, then for contrast a pour of Charter 101. finished up with a couple of sips of Old Ezra 101. Think i preferred the Old Charter but not by much. Haven't really been able to fall in love with the Old Ezra, so the Dant gets a close second.

At the curling club last night, and as the night wore on the various whiskey drinkers began to congregate at our table, some bringing bottles of their own. I didn't have any of the Jameson that got polished off, but OF, VOB, ER and OWA were also consumed. All generally well received by those who were unfamiliar with some of the choices.

Jimmy, I think he's starting to figure out that we're screwing with his whiskey when he's out of town.

The theme for this Whiskey Wednesday was bonds: EW BIB, Bonded OF, and Old Fitz BIB. Good stuff all around.

Just some HH White Label tonight. Picked up a fresh bottle bc Kristin wanted me to put on "Bourbon School" for some of her friends Sunday. Pity these good people for suffering through the lies and untruths imma peddle to these folk as whiskey gospel.
