tanstaafl2
Passed on some CEHT, including the new Barrel Proof, at the more or less regular price of $70 sitting on the shelf. Also a LS&B at the fairly typical price around here of $120. Also saw the BTEC Hot Box and Heavy Char bottles on the shelf for the fairly typical but somewhat spendy $55. portugieser
I passed on both a 2010 and 2011 FR ltd edt small batch at $95. Mistake? I can go back and wasn't sure how they compare to the great 2012 and 2013
smknjoe
I haven't had the 2010, but I do wish I had another bottle of the 2011. Is it like the 2012 or 2013? No.

I can go back and wasn't sure how they compare to the great 2012 and 2013I have had the 2010, it was very good, but it was lacking a gear that the 2012 provides in spades. I have not tried the 2011, but I would go back and get both!
beAUar
I passed on both a 2010 and 2011 FR ltd edt small batch at $95. Mistake? I can go back and wasn't sure how they compare to the great 2012 and 2013I'd go back. By coincidence, I managed to pick up the 2010 last week and found it to be very enjoyable on first sip. Not as layered as the 2012 or as forward as the 2013 but still delicious in a very refined way. Based on my one session with it so far, I was really digging the pronounced cedar note on the finish. Old Lamplighter
Bowman Millenium at $79.99...just not convinced as of yet. Other Bowmans I've had & bunkered were impressive at $55-60...but not so sure I would've taken them home had they cost another $20. However, like just about everything else right now with an age statement: supply is finite + a lot of them like this one are one-offs. I'll probably have to get at least 1. Yeah right...that never works...I want 1 to consume and 1 to stash away.

petrel800
Left some Lock Stock and Barrel for 199.99, some Woodford Sweet Mash for 139.99 and my favorite left on the shelf of the day, a CEHT Single Barrel for 99.99. Owner asked me if I was into Van Winkle stuff, told him thanks but no thanks, if he's got CEHT at 99.99 and LSB for 199.99, I guarantee he ain't selling Van Winkle at MSRP.His stuff, his call on the pricing, but I'll go elsewhere.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

T Comp
About a week ago I came upon a newer looking store I'd never noticed before and passed up on 6 Jefferson Reserve 17 year olds-batch #4 ($89) and a ER BTAC from '11 ($69). Back in the area today and thought about picking up one but NO ...all gone courtesy of one "biig spendah" per owner. Said he grabbed a Scott's Port Ellen too. skidfive
Left behind a Jeffersons 18 for $82, grabbed the 4 roses 13' LE instead. If I recall its SW juice, so I'll be back in a few days to grab it most likely.
smknjoe
That's a pretty good price and I would grab the 4R first, too (I already have some JPS17.)

Old Lamplighter
Went by a long-forgotten store where there was once a good supply of CEHT Tornado...which I foolishly passed up way back when. :banghead: Tornado long gone...now replaced with CEHT Straight Rye...at $89, I ran out the door. gblick
Today I saw and passed on a handle of WT101 Old#8 bottled on 08/31/98. I once had an Old#8 liter bottle from '97 that was way below par, then I read here on the forum that Old#8's bottled after about '95 are not too good. So I didn't want to take the chance on this '98 bottle.

May be overpriced at $88 but will give way more joy than any other sub-hundred gift to many on my shopping list.
Wryguy
Passed up a Jefferson's Presidential Select RYE 21 year for $130ish. Anyone heard anything about this one?I passed on this and the 25 bourbon too. I heard a rumor that the 25 is the OGD mashbill from Beam, can't confirm it though. I'll want a taste before dropping that kind of coin, but I'm intrigued. No reviews out there as far as I've seen.
squire
At that age the barrel influence is so great I doubt the mash bill matters much.
