I have seen it in the Indy area for $119. Still too high for me, but it seems reasonable compared to the prices that I have seen on here.

State minimum here is $120, store also had a PVW 20 bag hanging up, the worker said they may have some. I said no thanks and left, didn't even want to hear his pricing.

This applies to so much in life...in this case, perfectly to putting a cap on bourbon spending. Well said

Ha, I'd have passed on that ECBP, too... that's above the incredibly inflated BX prices, even. At some point it's just not even a value any more. I'd be OK with a slight premium on something like that (say, $10-$15) but not twice (and then some) MSRP.

Yeah. I was surprised to see those prices where i was. I have several bottles of these batch2s still and I got them for less than $40 each locally. I would definitely buy more of these if they're priced right because I like them very much.

More struck out than passed...Party Mart in Louisville did a raffle style lottery for Pappy. i'm guessing 400-500 in line, quick math is 25 or so bottles. To their credit the crowd was very well behaved...though more than 50% my parents age or older commenting on "i don't even drink whiskey, i just like collecting things...". Just wanted to shake my head and walk away.

I passed on the new Woodford Reserve Classic Malt. The store was asking $299 (in a control state) I didn't know anything about it, but came home and did a little research. Not only was it priced incorrectly, like most WR products I'll keep passing it over.

I swear I've read about a store owner doing this... thought it was here, but now I'm thinking it was actually on one of the BX/BP sites. But he had this exact policy.

I think I know who you are talking about and he claims to have that policy, but I've never gotten him to sell any of his high-end bottles at MSRP. Every limited edition bottle in the store is 2 to 2.5X MSRP.

I think we're thinking of the same guy... I seem to recall his shop being in MN.

A good idea but unfortunately not legal in most areas because even if the store is allowed on premises consumption the broken seal means you are driving away with an open container.

Plus I was wondered if a retailer is allowed to dictate what a purchaser does post sell since they would no longer possess the product.
