I fell asleep last night at around 9:30 after having hiked a good 14 mile stretch of the Appalachian Trail, so I missed out on my normal Saturday Night bourbon. Which is how I am justifying the Henry McKenna 10 store selection I am about to pour into this glencairn that is sitting in front of me.

Not bourbon but having some Mitcher's whiskey in me coffee. I'm going to try and print some pictures from their website of their bourbons and ask one of my dealers to get some in.

Had some ECBP 137 last night while watching Bucky fall to the Wildcats. Neither finish was particularly to my liking.

Finished off a bottle of Booker's that has been very good to me and my UK Wildcats. Another down to the wire exciting game. Now what to drink for Monday night? May be I should have saved a little of that Booker's!!

Well I for one went back to WT101 after reading your post and am damn glad I did

Looks like I'll pick up a WTRB this week and see if the trend continues.

On the other I really don't appreciate Booker's and at $200 I'm passing on the 25th.

I think you will really like the WTRB.

The Bookers is a completely different animal from the WTRB. I had never tried either the standard or the 25th. One SBS at a bar is not the best way to truly get the full picture of the two so I can't say if you would find the 25th to your liking given that you don't like the standard issue. It's definitely not worth $200 though. I'd buy it at MSRP.

OFBB 13 on the deck after a long day with my toddler. Maybe I should have gone for something stronger.

I finally found a use for the bottle of BMH gave me a while back. Didn't like it straight, but I dumped the whole thing into a pitcher of bourbon milk punch today for brunch.

2013 4R LE SmB then SB. I always loved the SmB and could drink that daily, but today the SB was a wow.

SmB was with a tiny splash of water. The SB was with 15% melted ice.

Starting with SmB with 15% melted ice now.

Sipping a bit of EC21 after a fabulous Sunday dinner. Unfortunately, my tasters and it are not meshing. My first off night with this whiskey, as it's been enjoyable previously. I'm blaming the onions in the scalloped potatoes. I think my next pour needs to be heavier and sweeter.

Tasted my new Booker's 25th Anniversary bottle this afternoon. I was less than impressed for the 100 bux.

The nose is a big improvement from regular Booker's. ...But, I found the palate to be rather harsh and hot compared to the regular, and the wood notes were kind of sour rather than nice toasty oak that I prefer. It was not bad at all, just not as good as I hoped.

It may improve with a bit of air and time. We shall see.....

Our synchronicity continues Joe  with just the minor differences of 7 years and some nice meshing here. Having some GBS EC14 after a fabulous Sunday dinner.

Mellow Corn for the season opener of Game of Thrones. Simple and sweet....with just enough heat.

Just finished a 50ml of 4RSB. I think I could learn to like this stuff. Maybe enough to some day buy a bottle! ;-)

One of those nights where I couldn't decide so SB blend was my default. Always reliable.

It really seems like it. Its the coolest mini, if you ask me.

I have never bought a bottle of FRSB that wasn't a store-pick, but I tell you what, the one FR mini I had was absolutely stellar and better than two of those aforementioned bottles. I mean if I was going to be bottling minis I'd put a good barrel in there, the "first one's on me" technique.

Right now I'm having a big pour of W12 and thinking about dipping my paws into my first ever bottle of ND OGD.

After a wine festival last night and beer earlier tonight and two nights ago, I'm taking it easy tonight with some WT80 brown label.
