GaryT
I was buying ECBP for $42 when it first came out last year. I bought ECBP for $39.99 last year when it first came out (retail price; not wholesale), so apparently a lot of variation from place to place (this was in Atlanta). By the time Batch 3 came around, I had to shell out another $4.

Restaurant man
I was buying ECBP for $42 when it first came out last year. This year, not the same story. Cost is up 25-40%, so $48 to $59. No question those are typical wholesale prices. I see price sheets often or spirits mngrs or owners just tell me how much they're paying for stuff, so you're right. However, distributors play games - both with stores and among each other. Seeing as though people really want to buy bourbon, there is pressure on the retailers to stock deep and wide. Some stores just do what they can. It's not "fair" to everyone.Big distributors in GA do not play games with price on limited items. They can't risk pissing off an account. On everyday items, they do get a little crazy for big volume accounts. Limited items are the sane price to e everyone. Where u at boots that the distributors play games? GerryM
On my weekly lunch time foraging I found some Rhetoric but hesitated when I saw the price of $95. I thought it was only a $5 increase from the Barterhouse. I' still tempted and may go back tomorrow but just couldn't pull the trigger.

Not even one single bottle. Nothing they can do about it.

smknjoe
It's different everywhere you go. You can't even get barrel picks at liquor stores in Houston. Yet, they still get LE's.

HD 335
Rhertoric for $100. Will see if the main shop I make my purchases get them in and has lower price.
jwilson82
Jefferson's Ocean for $80. Clerk pulled the bottle out from behind the counter as I bought him out of Weller 12.A nice drink, IMHO, but not worth the $60 I paid for the half drunk bottle that is still sitting in the back of the cabinet at home
GaryT
Passed on some AE Rye (although best price I've seen it around ATL at $76.99) and some Hayes Parker Reserve. Had never heard of/seen it before, and this is from those TerrePURE peeps (which per the label means they "offer you the leanest, smoothest and best tasting whiskey known to man"). The label also states in small text near the bottom of the side "Aged at least six months", so I decided to pass If it had been at least 24 or 36 months, I probably would have bit just to see about this TerrePURE nonsense. Paddy
I was briefly seduced by a WP rye for $67ish. I somehow managed to gather myself (noted how clear she looked compared to her cask strength sister) and slipped off to my getaway.

TunnelTiger
all of them, in fact I didn't visit any of my dealers all week. Probably for only the second time all year. Picking up 8 bottles on my hunt last Saturday had something to do with that.
