Enjoyed some different vintages of GTS last night, along with some ND OGD114, WT12, and barrel proof FRYL :)

Got together with a few friends last night and threw a few things back.Honestly,it was to let someone who had never had any of the expressions of PVW.....shockingly enough he wasn't blow away.[emoji6] 0bcdb9005083387c9979402f65e0a9e4.jpg

I would have been targeting that Eagle Rare 101. Mighty fine stuff.

That was indeed a mingle of all 10 4R recipes at barrel proof with a 1:1 ratio across all 10. Without knowing the 4R proportions of each that go into standard YL this was the most straightforward approach. It was a fun thing to do and a good conversation piece at the GBS gathering. It came in at 115p.

On the table, with the rest of the bottles ;)

Kevin (kcgumbohead) created it; believe it is a mingle of all 10 FR recipes (think it came in at around 115 proof or so). So far, I've yet to encounter a mingle of FRSBs that I haven't thought was pretty damned tasty, and this was no exception.

Had some of my Four Roses Solera blend this afternoon. Such good stuff to mix together.

Best regards, Tony

Getting ready for a fantasy football draft. Enjoying a slightly older, but not dusty bottling (late '00s), of RR10. I am still working on emptying bottles to make room for new stuff. I kind of enjoy RR10 since it is 90 proof and a nice sipper neat.

Had a little impromptu BT tasting last night, reg ETL,ETL CnB 50th, ETL Dep's, and ETL93 Comm. The CnB, Dep's, and 93 were all outstanding selections, and very similar. All had less heat yet deeper flavor than the reg. Finished with TPS AAA 10 yr, miss this!!!

Willett 23y.........this is a great bourbon.

How woody/oaky is it? I stared at that one at the gift shop but feared the splinter factor at that price point.

Having a pour of a 12yr Willett #1584. It's a little hot out of the gate, but 10 minutes in the glass tames it down a bit.

It's got the wood, but it's not out of control. The one I have is 108 proof and drinks like a 40 proof. Nothing but flavor. Crazy good.

Several standouts this weekend. A WTRR101 that I tried shortly after a new WTRB112, HHSS, a couple WFEs and a OGD114 that was OUTSTANDING. I believe it was an ND.
