Does anyone know what year the 2014 birthday bourbon was distilled?

Thomas

The last couple have been 12 years old I think so I would guess 2002 if they remain true to recent form (aren't they all around 12yo?). But haven't seen one to confirm.

Looks to be 12yo again from 2002 with a green tape on the cork this year if this website is correct.

FORTY BUX!!!??? I wish it were so reasonable in Michigan. It's been going up $5 a year for the last several years... to the point last year a bottle ran $55!!! It was excellent stuff, and I'm not sorry I grabbed a few; but the release can pretty variable, so I'm debating whether or not to pursue any this time around.

It was $38.99 last year at some stores around here.

Based on last year, early October was my expectation for the arrival in IL. No news to contradict that so far.

Can anyone confirm this is out?

Delayed until after KBF here in KY. I would imagine the same for rest of country.

Maryland liquor stores somehow got it in August and January last year. I have no expectations as to when this one will be here, though I can confirm that it is not currently available in MD.

I haven't really looked for it, but it traditionally comes out by mid-September in most markets since Mr. Brown's B-day was September, 2nd.

Last year was mid-late September in St. Louis. Talked to the main guy at my usual spot and he hadn't gotten any news on when it would come this year.

Thanks Eric.

Is that delayed shipment TO the distributors, or Kentucky distributors holding it from Kentucky retailers?

Delayed shipment to distributor. I will be curious to see if any makes it to the grand gala at the KBF Saturday night.

Do you think the distilleries are less focused on KBF timing now that any limited edition sells out? Or just bad timing on the part of BF?

I've never loved this bourbon. In fact several years were not even liked. It's a release I get to completely ignore every year

Kevin, normally I agree on this, with the LARGE exception of the '13 version. Got to try a sample early in the release cycle and it really hit my sweet spot. Killed two still have one in reserve. Not planning to chase the '14.....yet.

I'm in the same boat. I haven't cared for this product over several years and just skip it. My money goes toward other fall releases.

I like it a lot and I have for years. The only year I haven't been able to get has been 2013. I support the brand for years and then the best one ever comes along and I get nothing. Pbbbt.

It seemed like everyone raved about the 2013. I like it, but don't quite get the accolades, seemed like a fairly basic bourbon to me. Great nose, I didn't think the taste matched it. I'll probably pick up a 2014, but won't go out of my way to find one.
