Opened a store selection Henry Mckenna, was a little concerned as I had the same store's selection Four Roses single barrel and found it less than appealing.

The Mckenna is very nice wish I had another.

A little bit of everything tonight, but probably my last pour for the night is some CEHTSB, solid pour...but out of all of them I'll take the BP for sure...

Some Elmer T. Lee just landed in my little burgh for the first time at my local so I bought one today and am giving it a workout in a Glencairn as I type. I am very pleased with it so far!

Mrs Fox took me out for my birthday at the place of my choice. I chose the best pizza place in Lousiville for a monstrous deep dish, and had some KC while waiting the 45 minutes for it to cook.

she also gave me a 6-pack of glencairns and some tools I was wanting.

I think I'll keep her.....

Happy birthday Fox!!! I was eyeing some Dickel 9yr this weekend and thinking of you. Haven't taken the plunge yet. I feel it coming on soon though.

Tonight, I'm putting another dent in the 1792RR I'm trying to kill.

Its a single barrel kinda night, FRSB followed by EWSB '04. While the Four Roses may be smoother, the EWSB certainly does not lack for flavor even at a lower proof.

JDSB bottled a couple of months ago, tasting very rich with a Kentucky-like depth, no banana/acetone or harsh woody notes. Charming drink and it proves again how various in a good way the single barrels are. Some are more like regular Jack (itself much improved in recent years IMO), yet some go in other directions, with interesting variations in colour and sweetness. This current bottle is very dark in colour, a mahogany brown with reddish glints.

BT/Stagg Jr. blend. Just a great pour. Averages out to around 110 proof and $37 per bottle, and I think it stacks up very well against competitors in that sphere.

Cracked a store select bottle not Blanton with a group of friends/co-workers last night. Almost finished it but a bit left for me to work on.
