garbanzobean
Kickin' a new thread off...I am celebrating my mother-in-law leaving the hospital tonight after major surgery... A requisite pour seemed to be in order: Cheers! Glad to hear your Mother in Law is out of the hospital. I struck a deal with my job to work from home for the rest of the week on Tuesday (hoping to make this semi-permanent), and am relaxing while working late with a healthy dram of Mortlach 15 G&M bottling. Really loving this one. It'd be a great holiday dram.

Nillion
Springbank CS 12, the batch with 50.3% alcohol. Quite delicious.
BigRich
I finished the last of my GKS NY blend last night. [sigh]. I'm going to miss this one.
Jazz Nut
Springbank CS 12, the batch with 50.3% alcohol. Quite delicious.I love the 50.3% version. Lots of depth, spices (cinnamon, clove, allspice). I forget which release this is, but there are still quite a few bottles of this release in the Minneapolis area at South Lyndale Liquors (saw that you are also located there). I have polished off two bottles, and have one in the bunker along with a 54.3% that I haven't tried yet.
Jazz Nut
Having a small dram of Springbank 15 with a teaspoon of water. I am getting a bit of hay (barnyard?) cinnamon, and green tea in the finish. After the bottle being open for a few days, it has become much better. I am really enjoying it, but may like the CS 12 versions better.

Jazz Nut
Yeah, I saw those the other day when I was picking up some more of their Four Roses Single Barrel store pick (OBSK mashbill which I highly recommend). Now that I have some experience with this bottle, I think I'll have to swing by soon and bunker one or two more of these Springbanks.I just picked up two bottles of the Four Roses Single Barrel store pick, it is superb! I am very impressed by that liquor store as well.Back to scotch, I have an Ancnoc 16 that has a small pour left in it--I'll be finishing off some near empties tonight. A pleasant, lighter, fruity, floral dram. I bunkered another bottle, but will not be reaching for that in the near future.

Vosgar
Frost advisory tonight, thought that was a good enough excuse to finish off a Laphroaig 10 that's been open too long. Something about cold temps seems to lead me to Islay.

Trying too hard, little more sherry jockeying with smoke overlaying band aids. I bought it blind because I love HP but if I had to do it over again I wouldn't buy it again. It would take a lot to get me to pick up a Dark Origins. I do love HP's standard age stated line, but I'm unconvinced anything they've released beyond that (and their 20+ yr stuff) is a good use of their spirit. I would dig their cask strength limited releases, but they always seem to find a way to enclose them in silly wood structures and crank the prices up to 11. As annoyed as I get with HP, I will still probably always have a 12 or an 18 on hand (currently both).
Jazz Nut
Started the evening with a small pour of R.L. Seales 10 year Rum to get the palate going, then Four Roses Private Selection OBSK 58.4% aged 9 years 7 months, Springbank 15, and then a combo dram of 1/2 Springbank 15 and 1/2 Longrow 11 year Shiraz Cask. The reason I did the combo was to bring a bit of spice and peat to the refined Springbank 15. I like it a lot! I think if I try it again I will back the Longrow off to 1/4 of the "malt blend".

MtnDew
Tried an interesting Candian tonight. I somewhat enjoy CC and find this even better, it's like a richer, fruitier CC, though I need to find a bottle of reg CC to try side by side. All in all, I'd say well worth the $20.
