Spent the day working on a new yard project. Lots of picking, digging, shoveling and wheelbarrelin' dirt. Smoked a pork butt, and filled my belly. and then some, with it. Collapsed into my chair by a roaring fire in the outdoor fireplace and medicated my achin ' GI back with a magnificent pour of PHC Blend of Mashbills. This bourbon again shows that it is one of the most truly special and greatest whiskies to have ever crossed my lips, ever...

Having some OS7y tonight while sitting by the fire. I was listening to my radio and I thought it was pretty ironic that a song a by George Jones came on, "The king is gone and so are you".. I broke the seal on a Jim Beam decanter that looks like Elvis...... What a line.

Working on the bottom third of a handle of EWBIB. It is wonderful on its own or in a cocktail. I got the bottle for a twenty dollar bill. I'm very glad it has come to Minnesota in recent years.

against my better judgement, went to a see a spoof rap band with some friends tonight. Had some WT101, some 4RYL, and fortunately some SAOS BP rye I smuggled in. still, it was not enough to ease the assault on my ears or the abomination to music.

yes, that was my first time ever with 4RYL. not bad, but nothing significant over any 80 proofer Ive had either.

CEHTSB and right now it's coming off as a smoother ER but not sure it's worth 2x the price (though I got this one on clearance and Eagle Rare's been climbing in price along with the rest of BT lately...). Either way, feeling satisfied in the moment tonight.

This has been a real advance in my life too. While George Thoroughgood likes to drink alone, I have mixed feelings about it. Having the wife drink too solves that problem.
