Picked up makers cask strength after work. Strange thing is, it rang up as 19.99. Recall it being higher like another local big box store which is way over prices. I probably should have said something.

Sounds like they rang up the normal MM.

Over the last week or two picked up a Makers Mark CS, Knob Creek SB store pick that I was part of the group (about 20 people) that picked and an ECBP batch 7 that I lucked into. I was actually in the store to pick up some beers I had ordered online only because my dentist's office is across the street. I'm checking out and a guy rushes in and asks where the Elijah Craig was. The special one. Yeah, my ears perked. "Oh - you mean the barrel proof? Over here" Followed and grabbed a bottle. If only every root canal came with a bottle of ECBP!

Hit 3 stores today after seeing the back doctor.

Purchased an ECBP at store #1 and store #2

Purchased an OGDbib (new bottle) at store #3.

Gave a bottle of the ECBP to a buddy at work. In repayment of him getting me a JPS21 on a trip to Virginia.

picked up an OGD114 to see what all the hype is about around here, and also a KCSB during lunch hour. I asked about ECBP at the Binny's I stopped at and looks like they got their shipment in last Friday and only got 6 bottles...and immediately sold out. doh!

oh and I did notice that all the BT distillery stuff was limit one... ER10, WSR, OWA and Blanton's. yikes, are we getting into a shortage for all this stuff?

Bought a store select ER10 along with some bar assessories, bar spoon couple of jiggers.

As for the shortage question above, Chuck had a great post on the whiskey advocate blog yesterday. I tend to side with him on the "shortage" issue.

As others have said in responses to Chuck's post, there may not be a whiskey shortage, but there sure is a shortage of the ones we want.

The woman gave me a late Valentine's Day gift and picked me up a bottle of WhistlePig Boss Hog 13 yr Rye. I haven't opened it yet. One of those rare whiskies that you want to be able to enjoy on a special occasion, although I don't know if I'll be able to make it a few more days. It's been staring at me every night for the last three days lol.

I do my part to alleviate the situation by not buying any Sazerac products.

Yesterday picked up an OWA. Will be interested to compare this bottle to the Binnys OWA I picked up a couple months back.

Very nice score.

Strange and sad that this previously commonly available bourbon a 20-25$ bottle, a nice pour but nothing magical just nice expression of the wheated style which could on occasion drink with a bit too much char has become a "score".

Good on you for getting some but damn this "craze" has gone off the cliff. There is still a sea of Weller SR a mixer/cooking bourbon IMO that gets dumped well before its time that I really wish Saz would leave in the damn barrels till its ready.

One day this bubble will peak hopefully sometime soon unless its already happened.
