I'm surprised you can even taste the MM after a pour of Jr.

It had a rather large cube in it but I feel ya.

I started to think the former, but quickly realized the truth lies closer to the latter as well. While I don't expect I'll be turning my Cult of Four Roses membership card in anytime soon, I'm giving some of the younger wheaters another try this year.

I haven't had any Weller SR in a while, so I'm really glad I bought a handle a few weeks ago. It's pretty tasty. That being said….

I'm having a pour of MM with a splash of MMCS tonight. Good stuff.

Cheers! Joe

Inaugural pour from a recent pickup of HM BIB. Gonna give this one a week or so before I revisit.

Moving on to my old faithful OWA.

Starting out with some more Woodward Ltd by Valentine. I really like this stuff. Anyone know if they actually distill it all? I am not sure how long they have been around to be able to age for 4 years.

Woodward Ltd. Bourbon Whiskey

We start with a classic bourbon mash bill of corn, rye and barley. We then double distill in our 650 liter Christian Carl still. Woodward Ltd. Whiskey is then aged for a minimum of four years in maple-infused, American oak casks. Woodward Ltd. Ends up with sweet notes of caramel, brown sugar, molasses and maple syrup that complement its spicy notes of rye, cinnamon and woody spices. Woodward Ltd. Whiskey earned a Silver Medal from the International Craft Spirit Awards. Woodward Ltd. is a distinct spirit that embodies what a good bourbon whiskey should be.

I have a simple philosophy: everything that I do must be done with quality in mind above all else, the way it was meant to be done. I’ve always appreciated the American craftsman; working by hand, making one of kind items that stand the test of time. In distillation, this means selecting the best ingredients, distilling in small batches, and taking care in every single step of the process. I take great pride in using old world techniques, techniques that haven’t changed in centuries. There are no computers controlling the stills, just my sense of taste and smell to determine the cuts.

In an era of mass production, squeezing costs and maximizing profits, one important thing is lost: quality. This country was built on quality manufacturing. At some point we lost our way. We shipped jobs overseas, became beholden to Wall Street earnings and lost our keen focus on quality products. I am taking a stand against mass produced spirits. I am here to prove that American ingenuity and quality American manufacturing is still alive.

They've been around since at least 2009 and I'm pretty sure they distill everything they sell.

This article talks about the release of the Woodward Whiskey, which has now been re-labeled as bourbon

Thx, I was just watching some of their videos and doing some google searches. Seem to be on the up and up. Two James is also a legit distiller right?

I'm giving the Jim Beam Signature Craft 11yr High Rye a try. I was hesitant to pay $39 for a 375mL bottle, but this is pretty nice. Makes me wish that there was a high proof, extra-aged OGD expression.

Since I didn't win the trip to watch the Justified finale and drink Bourbon with Raylen and Boyd, I'm breaking out the Pappy 20 tonight for the series finale.

I finally found MMCS in Minnesota, and am enjoying this a lot. I have also poured a bit of ECBP, and CEHTBP, with a bit of water. MMCS is good neat or with a bit of water for me!

Good choice, neighbor. I went for the Art Special myself. (You might recognize this particular bottle from a tasting last year.)6a09924bed4b87feac61e81e9d12c5b5.jpg
