First time in a store in over two months and the only reason I went in was to get some wine and pick a couple bottles of SAOS rye for the bunker.

In addition to the rye and 6 bottles of wine I walked out with my first bottle of MMCS, and store select bottles of GD 9yr, RRSB, and Kentucky Spirit.

So much for holding out until my bunker is empty.

I'm also afraid that the three store selects are going to be so good that I'll go back for a case of each.

What can I say, just no will power.

Yesterday I picked up

IW Harper 15 (couldn't make myself pass it up) after the first taste I should have listened to myself. Maybe it will

Get better.

WTKS Store Selection and a couple of 4RPSBS OESV 11yr 1mo at 111.4

Added another 1792 private pick to the bunker, along with a local OBSO pick that I've debated about for 6+ months. Cracked it tonight, and glad I finally got off the pot :)

While in Indiana, I picked up a Beams 8 Star. Never see it before, and I needed it for my beam bottle collection. For $7.99, and being a blend of whiskey and grain alcohol, I am expecting very little.

And your expectations will not be exceeded. Beats vodka though and around here it's cheaper.

You must be a serious collector to pick up one of those!

Managed to grab a bottle each of EC12 on sale and CETH Barrel Proof. This is the first CETH bottle in the collection so I was happy to add it at a good price as well.

CEHT Barrel Proof is a great pickup; I hope you enjoy it...it's a great pour.

I don't collect beam decanters, just the various labels of beam products (Beam label, no small batch) they produce. I have a shelf high up in my garage with all the empty bottles. All bourbons/whiskeys have their own purposes (Beam 8 Star=questionable decisions).

I used the bottle of Beam 8 Star I had to light charcoal.

Got a bottle of Wild Turkey today. The proof and flavor stand up to a little bit of ice, which is great for when it's been in the 90s for more than a week.

I picked up two bottles of JW Dant BIB @ $25. Dant BIB was something that got me interested in bourbon years ago. I couldn't pass up $12.50 a fifth.

Most recent and last purchase for awhile is a 6yr old age stated Fighting Cock. I guess it qualifies as a dusty?? If so its my first!! Tried a sampler on a work trip and found it to be quite a nice pour, a couple drops of water and I got some nice chocolate and nutty notes from it so decided a full bottle was in order and at 15.00 why not??

I really enjoy Dant BIB. Some people seem to have a strong opinion that it is crappy, maybe due to the price? Every time I go back for another pour I think to myself "what is it about the taste of this bourbon that people don't like?" and every time I can't figure it out. Tastes good to me. I am no expert, but I feel like Dant is an excellent example of bourbon not needing to be expensive in order to be good.

Found two bottles of ETL for $30.80 a piece. Something is changing around here. Ohio is becoming a stomping ground for Buffalo Trace products all of a sudden.

I believe quite a few of us enjoy Dant BIB , we just don't talk a lot about it so that it slides under the radar.

Picked up a bottle of the 1792 sweet wheat.

I was just inquiring about that this week. Folks here in va haven't heard anything as of yet. Be sure to let us know what you think.

Will do. It came in at about 40 bucks. Maybe able to find it a little cheaper at some other stores.
