Chatted up a guy at the local liquor store and he offered up a bottle of Stagg Jr that he had squirreled away in the back for $49.99. I got it thinking it was a batch 3 or 4 only to find when i got home that it was a batch 2. Hopefully it's not as bad as everyone says.

If you like it, go back and buy a case, because it is generally thought of as a great bourbon for the price, that is an excellent price and the price is supposed to be going up soon as Beam repositions the entire OGD line upmarket a little bit.

Grabbed a store pick of 1792. I'm hoping for something special; but won't be disappointed unless it's really weird. The color is quite nice, at least, and no mark-up from State Minimum, so should be at least good, I assume.....?

Time will tell, of course.
