It's a wheater night here. Starting off with W12, followed by OWA. Probably will cap it off with OFBIB.

BTW...It's been a long time since I've done a SBS with the Weller's. Tonight the OWA is kicking the W12's tail in nose and mouthfeel, then the W12 takes over with the added complexity and depth of its finish.

An awesome Noah's Mill for my pour tonight. This new bottle that I've been working is one of those NM's that are on the very high side of good. Sweetness, pops of cherry, with cinnamon bursts exploding throughout well into the finish. Really fine whiskey.

Would you mind sharing which batch it is?

A nice pour of 2007 GTS on a cool Chicago evening with a little deep soul music courtesy of Otis Redding. Dynamite all the way around!994d23269ec76437640cff2f731accb1.jpg

Sure. Looks like it's 15-43.

Ha! Same here. W12 to start followed by Larceny. Will cap it off with OWA.

Had a meeting of my Land Cruiser club at a local watering hole that we've been to a couple of times and while everyone else was having various microbrews while waiting for the obviously new girl waitress to bring our food, I had a couple of EC12's. After the meeting, it started pouring rain, so we hung out for one more drink. I took a look at their bourbon selection and was quite impressed actually. BT, ER10, Angel's Envy, Larceny, MM, WT101, EC12, Booker's, and.....wait....is that? Yep, it is..... EC23. Totally didn't expect to see a bottle of EC23 in a bar next to a Bass Pro Shop in Cary, NC. I had to ask how much for a pour, since I'd never actually tried EC23. The said it was $24 for a pour. Since it had been 50-cent wing night, my dinner tab was pretty low, so I went for it. All I can say is.....damn. The wood is definitely there, but it's not overpowering. Delicious.

4RBS OESQ sooo much better than the OBSQ I had, lots of caramel. I don't visit this one often as other 4R recipes outshine it for me but as an occasional pour its enjoyable. Also did my first vatting of SB blend and while at it I did a SBS of W12/OWA. I like the OWA much better than WSR which I don't care for at all neat, at least this one I can stand neat. The W12 was quite different from my last couple W12s, they had a char like finish that had me wondering what a W10 might taste like and that I may very well prefer it.

This W12 is from the latest batch after its several months hiatus and tops any I have had so far with a rich butterscotch and while the age is present it isn't a bitter char at the finish just a balanced mature wood note, now this is something to savor.

I am going to let that SB blend hang out for a couple months before trying, a nice holiday pour methinks.

It was a summer so busy with travel, family and beach time that I haven't been posting to one of my favorite forums...

Now I'm home and nose to the grindstone, and with the last few days' heat wave in Boston, I've been enjoying OWA with a few ice cubes for the last few nights.

Revisiting larceny tonight, been a bit but it never disappoints.

ETA: A pour of 1792, good juice. Probably switching over to some GD12 vattings or my #lastpours decanter next.
