Checking back into the cult with some 4RSB for some Monday Night Football. I don't have a dog in this fight, but I do have a hotly contested fantasy matchup to monitor.

Tasted thru some (3) "mysteries" my baby boy sent along for entertainment. Trying to ferret out what they might be. Brand? Proof? Distiller at least?

With my poor-to-lousy palate, it'll be a minor miracle if I get any right. But, I'm in no hurry. I'll analyze 'em at some length over the next few weex.

All in good fun.

You have me stumped about which bourbon this is--Evan Williams .. Vintage? '03 Special Selection? I even tried the official acronym list but no luck. I do know, however, that I must try this!

Moved on to some bakers and ogd114 and a small pack of country archer peppered jerky, mmmmm. undecided on next pour but it's early yet for a bourbon night. might be more of the bookers and ogd, or ogd114, since those are the most empty big bottles currently so I can make room to open some more lower proof bottles from the bunker.

I'd say it was a typo and that he meant "SB" as in single barrel, but the "V" is a curious addition to the acronym. Double typo?

The mother-in-law is visiting. I get along with her pretty well, but she and my wife are already getting snippy at each other and she's here until Saturday. I had taken a couple days off, but.....not tonight. Started with some FRSB while tending the grill. Came inside and things still kinda tense, so I stepped it up to Stagg, Jr., #3. Fully fed, they both fell asleep after watching some TV, but just to be safe, I poured some MMCS for dessert.

Tried some 1792 neat. I was surprised to read the mash is high-rye as it tasted a lot like OWA to me (though I prefer the 1792).

I also had a pour of 1792 last night. It was a store select. I get a lot of cherry from this bottle. I think I can see where you are coming from dboland. It does have some smoothness and sweetness similar to a wheated bourbon.

Last night had a pour of Wild Turkey Diamond. Gifted from a friend. Without regards to cost, I like it. Honey, light caramel, and classic WT spice.

That being said, I'd never pay for a bottle. For this style I'd rather pay for Kentucky Spirit or stick to rare breed.

A nice pour of this tonight: Jim Beam Signature Craft Quarter Cask Finished Small Batch (3rd Release) (12 Yr. Old). Definitely the best Jim Beam I've had to date.

RR10yr followed by OE7yr 101. The OE7 has more char going on than I've ever tasted before but it's subsiding and now I'm getting a variety of fruit flavors with a bit of vanilla. Sort of bubble gum like. I'm feeling some OBSO next.
