DPPSmoker
I have about 50 bottles with around 5 of them open. I have purchased at least half of those bottle in Kentucky and most of them while attending KBF weekend. I admit that I started my bunker with the idea that bourbon was only getting more expensive. I'm glad I did what I did. I've slowed my purchases down this past year mostly due to pricing. Just an example, Four Roses gift shop barrel strength bottles were $55 two to three years ago. They were $72 in September (and they didn't have the K yeast bottles out). Damn, I love me some Four Roses but that's quite a price spike. I only finish about two bottles per year. Bourbon is more of an occasional treat for me than anything. But I also accumulated my bottles so that I can pass them along to my three kids. Think about it, wouldn't we all have loved it if our fathers had saved some bourbon from their time?
b1gcountry
I will just say that if you want them to appreciate it, you need to show them how, and make memories with them. They are never too young to smell :)
jvd99
About 150+ bourbons all LE's and about 100+ single malts comprised of dusties and LE's

Stew
Now here's a man after my own heart... not that I've tasted Weller yet, but the fact that his passion leads him to procure such a stockpile-in-case-of-a- blizzard type scenario that I'm notably impressed! Stew
I have 9 bottles so far. Averaging about one purchase a month. List is : Blanton's SB, EC12, 4RSB, ER10, WR Double Oaked, OFSB, Bulleit 10, Bulleit 95 Rye and Maker's Mark. I can see that this is and will become an " Investment " type hobby soon. Well worth it it seems. I bow to all of you who've listed such incredible lists of bourbon, credit to your time, money and love of bourbon to amass such a cache. One day I too hope to be there! Thanks Stew. Yes, I did stockpile a lot of what I like. FWIW, that picture of the Weller 12's was from a few years ago. My current total of Weller 12's, and OWA's is about that of what's in the picture.
Stew
Trying to find a bottle of the Weller 12 around here in Northern NJ. Not too easy...seems like its not on many shelves so far. I'll continue my search. I'm sure one will turn up sooner or later!
Underhilltab
Unfortunately, Stew, I don't think Weller 12 is distributed in (at least Northern) NJ. That's what a pretty knowledgable liquor store spirits manager told me a few years ago. I've found it in neighboring states, but never in NJ. OWA and WSR are around...but not in the abundance or frequency that they used to be.
jeffrey r
Yep, no Weller 12 in NJ. Just not distributed here. There was a store downtown in NYC that used to stock it, and I stocked up amply a couple of years ago before it disappeared for good at that store and virtually anywhere in NY or NJ that I have seen. It's really too bad for anyone who doesn't have a supply already, as I love Weller 12.
smokinjoe
The thing that has to be remembered, is that Weller 12 was only distributed in a very limited handful of states up until a short number of years ago. Maybe, 6 states? If that, even? Outside of The Motherland, Texas, Big Chains in Chicagoland...it has always been a tough find, and required some work to get. Gerry M
I average a total of 50 to 60 including limited"a and singles I'm holding on to. I try to keep a decent back stock of W12 and Booker round tables
Stew
That sounds like quite a nice stash Gerry...Kudos!
Stew
Figures that northern NJ would be one of the places not on the distribution list. Next time I'm in NYC, I'll see if I can find a bottle and take it home. I'm sure it'll cost a pretty penny since its A: NYC B: A moderately distributed bourbon... hard to find, the price goes up! Auracom
75 closed and 10 open. 4/5 of my bottles are American but I am essentially done collecting the LE's I felt were worth my time (and money). 2016 is all about bunkering foreign bottles, sampling some higher end single malt, and maintaining an open count of no more than 5-6 at any single time. Stew
Funny... but who would've thought that NJ, a place so close to NYC would be off of the distribution list? Guess I'll have to be very much alert for any Weller on a shelf!

Stew
Very true Black Tot... I'm up to 13 now and all have been opened and sampled or consumed to at least the halfway point. I must admit, out of all of them, I'm still trying to get my taste buds wrapped around that Eagle Rare. So far, I've enjoyed every bottle and although some are more appealing to my palate, 12 of the 13 have been great. The ER is just not doing it for me as a neat or with a cube. I may just use it for cocktails or trade it with a friend who has something to trade worth drinking. I know many of you out there are ER fans and if one of you lived close, I'd trade it in a heartbeat. I think I'll replace it with a bottle of FRSB or EC12 and be done with it. My gifts of Willet Still Pot Reserve and Michter's are great and definitely a valued new addition to my cache. Long live the Bourbon collection! b1gcountry
The er to me has a lot of similarities to the 4rsb and saos7. But that might just be me. It is kind of like those two without the rye punch
ThirstyinOhio
I have about 400 bottles of whiskey with 70+ open. I try to buy two of everything just in case I like it and can't find it again. With that being said, I have placed a self imposed restriction of only buying 24 "special" bottles (store picks, LEs, stuff like that) this year and every day drinkers but only after a bottle is finished. I consume a bottle a month or less and have realized that I have way too many great bottles that I may never get to if I don't stop buying more. I've been lucky to fall into a great group of fellow enthusiasts and we take turns hosting tasting events (if you are in Ohio and want to join, message me). This has allowed me the opportunity to try a great variety of whiskey and helped reduce my desire to buy every thing that comes out.
