2016 Yamazaki Sherry Cask.jpg

The 2016 Yamazaki Sherry Cask in the dining room (now that I think I've figured out how to post pics!) ready for tasting.  I'll post my tasting notes over in the "Foreign Whiskey" Forum when I finally get the courage to open her up . . . . . . .

Very nice. I'm not sure I could ever (afford to) crack one of those but kudos for doing so when you do!

Picked up 2 bottles of ECBP batch 6 (140.2 proof) whilst in Poland that a friend managed to acquire for me, which we missed out on in the UK.

Cheers all!

Good ol' no-nonsense Booker's 2015-05 for a several-day hotel standby at work. Sometimes this job is pretty good.

Did you crack it open yet? If so what did you think. I've been going back and forth over whether I should buy a bottle.

Not yet. But I've had it. The pour reminded me of EC18, the old version.

To me worth it, but I know it's not everybody's cup of tea, taste or price.

Have not bought much for quite awhile. I'm stocked up pretty well. Waiting for something I've not had before, but pretty special, at least to me. Tons of stuff available, but to me, not really worth the price, not what I'm liking to find at this point. Still, a HUGE difference in selection, than in UT.

It was Sunday, but I passed on a $99 bottle of RHF, but couldn't resist the $75 bottle of Col EH Taylor Barrel Proof.  I've seen the SiB going for $60-70 so I figured a few extra $$ for the uncut version was Ok.

Jim Beam Signature Craft 12 Year for $40

Been wanting to try this for a while and so I finally gave in and picked up a bottle. I'm a big fan of older bourbons typically and I also enjoy most of the Beam offerings, so what the heck... Worth a try!

Damn!  I love the EH Taylor Small Batch.  Been lusting after a Barrel-Proof, but haven't had any luck beyond the marked up second hand.

WHOA!!!!    That is an excellent deal!     You might consider leaving one for the next fella, though.    Good Karma to be considerate in that way, unless you expect the shelf to be refilled next week.....

Got a bottle of OESF from a store that is notorious for overcharging. $58 is not bad, 2 days shy of 11 year old.

Got a Seasoned Wood today at MSRP.  Will wait to do a SBS with Cured Oak with my friendly enabler when he returns from Italy.

I bunkered two more Barrell Whiskey Batch 1's and threw a handle of OWA in for good measure.

Are you trying to start a new cult for Barrel Bourbon/Whiskey? I'm getting an itch.....

Bunkered up 4 more 4R PS OBSF's. It's a particularly good barrel so I'm gettin' while the gettin's good.

Price was good, and I've been  somewhat interested in trying the whiskey, so decided to go for a CEHT Seasoned Wood.  I'll take it for a spin tonight.

Picked up a handle of ec12 with the 12 on the front and a e.h. Taylor small batch.  Will be my first shot at the eh Taylor.    Also snagged a gifted horse last week, waiting for a good reason to give that one a try.

I added a few more bottles of Elijah Craig 12 to my bunker. I tried a NAS Elijah Craig and didn't care much for it. I also picked up some Eagle Rare Private Select from Big Red Liquors. I was part of the group that went to Buffalo Trace to pick a couple of barrels. Big Red also had a Old Grandad Bonded with the orange cap. Another chain had a couple of Blanton's that had letters on the caps that I needed. Now I just need a T and my cap collection will be complete.
