2 fingers down. Just cleared a path for our dog to get out do his business.  Warming up with WTRR SB.  Man it is coming down fast.

killing off my wtks bottle with a 1/3 full ogd114 on deck.  Still in bottle killing mode to get my 3 deep shelf of opens down to 2 rows deep, and eventually 1 row deep before I open anything new hopefully.

I wanna drink some Bakers but I cut myself today bad and I'm not sure now much will thin out my blood. I think I'm being paranoid.

Still stuck inside due to the blizzard.  Up to about 2 feet of snow right now.  Family keeping it together.  And I am on to WT Tradition.  Tradition is really good, rich, oaky bourbon--but still an intangible or two from being outstanding.  Hitting the spot though.

Day 2 of shoveling tons of snow here.  I was rewarded for helping a neighbor with a big pull off a freshly cracked WR (while standing in his driveway at about 2 pm).   :D

After finishing up the heavy lifting, I went with the SB Blend (60/40 W12 heavy) followed by HPS as my basketball pours.  Finally finished everything up with a little rye closer.

Snow stopped here awhile ago.  I did my last shoveling except for the car and the path to the car and the snowplow wall of snow up against the car.  Hence, it was a good portion of HH 80 proof some relatives gave me for Christmas.  Don't eat the brown snow.  It's not spilled HH.  Just saying.

A little WLW 134.8 with the morning coffee.  Bourbon tastes so good in the morning.

Whilst out on the town I had a large Bakers. My drinking pal (new to Bourbon but an old hand as Scotch) was bowled over at it's depth, smoothness and complexity. I think we may have a convert!

Getting back indoors and wanting to carry on the Jim Beam theme, I had a wee pour of Knob Creek Rye and and went to sleep happy!

I don't drink (bourbon) in the morning but love my coffee.  I was always put off by the thought of mixing bourbon with coffee til I tried some Jim Beam Bonded in a half caff one evening when I was yawning too early and wanted a few pours.  It was pretty dang tasty.  :D

Usually there is a label on the side of the barrel strength selection bottle with additional information like name of retailer, age of the barrel, Four Roses recipe (obsk, oesq, etc.).

Ah ha, thanks!   More "Inside Baseball" info, I guess.  So much to learn, so little time.

Sitting down to get ready for the football games with a pour of OGD114. A pour of Four Roses OESQ is up next.

Trying to clear out the undesirables, so it's FRSmB and RRSB.

Yeah, undesirables.  If only . . .

More HH "Old Style" SB 80 proof.  Good news: no more snow coming down, so I'm watching NE@DEN while the car shovels itself out.  EDIT - Jeeps are so versatile. AND, they have that neat storage space behind the back seat under the floor.  My recent EC12 purchase is in there.

So in addition to the trunk, you also have the secretcompartmentinthejeep bunker? You inspire once again sir.

My Thirsty Thursday bourbon buddy is also my neighbor who owns a snowblower. I was waiting for a special occasion and his clearing my driveway of 30" of snow was it -- cracked the seal on the 2015 4R LESmB to share with him.  Great bourbon. Lots of hype and I need to spend some time with it and explore it some more, but it was real nice.

Followed that with a Sazerac (cocktail) made with Rittenhouse and then a perfect Manhattan also made with Rittenhouse.

Decided to have a pour of the Prentice ER101 that I decanted two weeks ago after finding the #1 in the series eagle decanter from 1979.  Wow, just wow.

CEHTSB to start the night  opened this one last night after not having had it a while. Really enjoying the comparison in this and RHF since it's less cost and more available.

I decided to take a break from my bottle killing mission and carried up a box of things from the basement I had been ignoring, that I didn't care for last summer, to see how I felt about them now and do a few small pours:

- A vatting of FC103/Templeton Rye + WT101/Templeton Rye + BT + Alberta Rye Dark Batch = not bad really but I still had a bit of toothpaste/mouthwash on the palate so time will tell.

- Alberta Rye Dark Batch = As bad as I remember, might have to go down the drain.  Not even sure I want to finish this half ounce pour unless I do a single glass mingle with something else.  Truly awful stuff.

- Motor City Gas: Royal Oaked Rye

- Motor City Gas: Belly Up Bourbon

I haven't tasted the MCG's yet tonight but they are young, small barrel whiskey's from a local place that I ended up vatting with other things to drink last time.  If I don't care for them on their own still then I will find something to vat them with, probably something I have open like OGD114 and the Bonded JB:EW vatting to help kill those bottles off.
