Jazz Nut
Had a small pour of a store select EWSB 2004, then moved to ORVW 107, and finishing up the night with ECBP! Happy Wednesday!
ken_mays
Poured the last of a fifth of JWDBIB into my glass and an equal amount into my Last Pours decanter. I have half a bottle of VOB80 on deck if I feel the need to go further. That bottle needs to go and I won't be replacing it anytime soon. I have a sinus congestion thing going on, so more expensive and subtle whiskey would be wasted tonight. Fort Knox
Got home from work.....poured a small pour of RHF to wake up my taste buds, and now I'm about to try my first taste from a bottle of a 4RSB PS OESV - 9 yrs. 5 mos. 57.4% that I procured thanks to the generous help of another SB'er. I've been trying to get ahold of a bottle of OESV for a long time!

It's a pleasure to have your esteemed company at this party good sir! How is that Baker's treating you now that you're a few pours into the bottle? smokinjoe
Figured I wanted something different this evening, so reached back and grabbed a dimpled bottle Old Forester BIB. Blooms with big over-ripe dark fruit, and with the heavy-thick mouthfeel that so many of the older bourbons have.

You know Paddy, it is. It's very good. But, like many of the older bourbons are to me, they're a one-and-done. They border on being so heavy that they become filling, almost. Certainly hits the spot on most occasions, but couldn't do them every night or in multiples on one night, if that makes any sense...
Charlutz
It was HMcK10 last night. I really enjoyed it and the wood flavor was stronger than I remembered. Very similar to what I find and like in EC12. Going to have to try a SBS to see if my memory and taste buds are reliable on these points.
ken_mays
Last night was a bit of Early Times 354. Not a bad bourbon by any means, but it didn't stand out either. If Central Casting called down for "typical bottle of bourbon", this is what would show up.

beasled
Started on Johnny Drum Private Stock (the bottles almost gone and I still ain't sure if I like it or not) and moved onto the tasty but dubious Michter's 10 year. Cheers all!
Hop
Just poured a glass of MM46CS. a lot of power for 108.6 proof, and I rarely say anything about high proof whiskeys just drink them neat like everything else but this one has a lot of heat

I feel so badly for you that I'll probably have to go get into an OBSQ! Funny you should mention the OBSQ. Tuesday, we had a Mardi Gras party for neighborhood kids and parents - Hurricanes and Sazeracs for Ps, Shirley Temples and apple juice for kids. Late in the evening (like, around 7PM hahahaha), some Dads asked me about the bourbon bottles stashed under chairs and on flat surfaces in the dining room. Three of them cornered me and asked me, "What do you think fits with Sazeracs?" Saz's being the cocktail offered earlier. I chose an OBSQ over and OBSO because two of them said they'd already tasted an OBSO. They all tripped for minutes after sipping. New members of the Cult . . . silverc
Trying a few bottles I picked up from my trip through Knoxville a few weeks ago. First was a SAOS Single Barrel from McScrooge's clocking in at a hefty 121.6 proof. Very nice with a finish that just kept going and going. Now it's a 4R PS OBSF from Farragut Wines at 11y 6m (114.4 proof).

silverc
Homestead Barrel Proof first, which was pretty nice, and now onto KCSB from Scrooge's in Anderson, SC. I was told it's 9 year and 126 proof. A nice zip to it with some good depth and a lasting finish.
