A little pregame '14 FR SmB LE, anything FR always hits the spot for me. I'm thinking some SB HHSS SB is on deck

Good to have two bottles of Blanton's Straight from the Barrel and have it pretty much always available over here in Germany. Just having a pour. It's heaven in a bottle. Probably my fave Bourbon ever.

Now I am going to have to hunt down another.  My closest substitute is ECBP.  Glad I can get a bottle of that every now and again .

I absolutely hammered a porterhouse on the grill, and now sittin' out back watching the Sheltie tear into its bone, with a gorgeous pour of SB.Com HHSS #1.  She looks happy, but I think I'm doing better.  :)

My brother-in-law and I polished of half a bottle of OSSB 9y during the  super bowl. What a great bourbon.

MMCS (15-03) cracked for the Super Bowl.  Color me a fan!

Not what I was expecting when I saw you were the most recent post! Hmmm.....I have an early batch and it comes off very grassy to me but I keep seeing a lot of positive feedback for the recent batches so maybe I need to revisit.

I've been up in Whistler since Thursday and since it's a bourbon wasteland up there I brought my own. I needed to plan ahead for changing moods so I had EC12, CEHTSB, Baker's, and the cleanup hitter - 4RSB. I ended up drinking mostly 4RSB and EC12 over the weekend. There are piles of snow up there and it snowed while we were there so I took great pleasure in sipping bourbon while watching it snow on a frozen lake and binge watching House of Cards on Netflix.

Tonight for the Super Bowl, it was EC12, 4RSmB, and I'm likely going with the cleanup hitter to end the night.

did some FRPS OESO & OBSO over the weekend, I REALLY love that OESO, good full mouth feel and big on the sweetness.  I didn't like the OBSO as much.  Also tried RHF for the first time and wow, was that amazing.  Big fruit, or maybe sherry smell and taste to it.  wonderfully smooth.

Had the opportunity to try Bulleit 10 and WRDO at a party last night. I'd had an interest even though I've tried other expressions from both and been left underwhelmed. This was the case last night as well.

Got home and drowned my sorrows over the poor play of the Panthers in a small pour of Abraham Bowman double barreled

I'm glad I held off, but it really was a pleasant surprise when I finally pulled the trigger.  Rich, silky and luxurious mouth feel.  Plenty of vanilla, caramel, butterscotch with just enough zing.  Balanced, with nothing off putting (such as the grassy note you picked up).  Moderate finish, with good oak presence.  I feel that the oak presents itself as a much older pour that it really is (for what that's worth).

Anyhoo, I managed to stay out of it tonight, as I went with a store pick RRSB.

Winner, winner, Wild Turkey dinner!  :P

P. S. Don't freeze your ass off up there brother!

Enjoying some barrel proof JD - I swear this gets better the closer to the bottom of the bottle I get!

I'm with you on this one, really like the 129.5pf that is open right now- whodathunk that anything JD would be this good?

Started with some Russel Reserve Single Barrel. Following up with some OGD 114. It's cold for GA so thought some higher proof pours were in order.

Watching the Heels play BC, had 3 fingers of MM46 to start the game and switched to ETL in the 2nd half, hoping for a change.  It got us the victory, I think, but with the way the boys are playing, I think I'll need something a bit higher proof for the upcoming schedule.

Back into it again, eh?

I'm starting the evening with the cleanup hitter. Now I don't know what to do next. The only logical choice is a PS barrel. So many choices now that I've made that decision.

I had a pour of EC18.  I was getting a big Irish cream flavor last night and of course a lot of wood.  I wanted to try tuning down the wood just a little so I decided to add a little ECBP in the glass.  It was good.  It certainly cut down on the woodiness.  I also lost the Irish cream flavor btw.

I may try a small vatting of EC23 and ECBP since I find EC23 to be just too woody.

That's gotta be rough!:D. I feel so badly for you that I'll probably have to go get into an OBSQ!:P

Yeah, that was clever.  :D  No Booker's currently open, but my Baker's sure is.  Count me in on this party!
