Postal Grunt
A WT101 said goodbye early this evening giving me a perfectly fine reason to to buy another.

Tennessee Dave
Won't be replacing this one. Proof too low for my tastes. Tasty enough straight up. Good beginner bourbon.
Tony Santana
Killed off a veronica SAOS 8 year this weekend. Luckily I realized it was a profile that hit my sweet spot and I have a couple backups.
Tennessee Dave
Glad to see this one done. Didn't enjoy it and especially so at it's $70 plus price tag. Will not be replacing this one. On the other hand though not by a long shot my favorite Weller expression I hope I can find a replacement for this one as all Weller's are very scare here in Chattanooga. babermac
Elijah Craig 12-year hit the bin last night. Got three more in the cabinet, so I'm not too sad yet.

Down to the last three EC12!!!????? I'd be getting pretty hysterical. You are in much better control of your Whiskey-Rexia-Nervosa than I am. Congrats! The meds are apparently working. Heee-Heeeee. HA! You and me both babermac. But, I assume the end for age-stated brands such as HMcK BIB is probably almost a foregone conclusion. You might wanna bunker a case or or two. I know I have. ...Along with a few 'family sized' EC12's.
GaryT
Recycling bin got a bit heavier . . . until wifey reminded me that they don't take glass anymore for recycling. Either way - no more use to me, but I think it was probably the best bottle of Jack I ever owned!
LCWoody
Finished off an Old Blowhard. I didn't drink from it often, but I did in joy it. I do enjoy old bourbons.

Either way - no more use to me, but I think it was probably the best bottle of Jack I ever owned! I agree. Despite the connotation of "Jack Daniels", I thought the barrel proof is stellar stuff. Slightly different tasting than a barrel proof bourbon, but with price hikes, and the difficulty in obtaining many of the Barrel Proof bourbons, JDBP is a great option. Anyone who says the quality of the stuff is bad, I would say needs to remove the whiskey from the brand in their mind. That said, tonight I finished off a 4R Barrel Selection OBSV. I liked it more than an OESO from another store, even though I tend to like oak and the OESO was 12 years old vs. 9 years. So sad....luckily I have another bottle. Also, it seems like many of the Bourbon buying fanatics poo-poo the store selection stuff around here so....lucky me. Also 4R just does a better job of production/quality/distribution than BT so the availability may have more to do with that.
Ozark
My first bottle of FRSB. Lasted about 4-months in my rotation. Damn good bottle and I will miss it. It will be replaced!

Hop
Emptied a little 200ml bottle of WT101 as a mixer for lemonade this evening - as much as I like RR and WTKS I just couldn't fall in like with the 101...
elmossle
Disposed of a bottle of OWA making my first ever SB Blend. Sad to see it go, but the great news is, another bottle was quickly transported upstairs from the bunker to complete the vatting process.
Postal Grunt
A bottle of Four Roses Small Batch hit the recycling tub at Casa De PG tonight. I don't think I'd pay retail in the mid $30s but when it goes on sale around $28 or lower, I could be persuaded to visit the purveyor of fine bourbons for another bottle. IncredulousNosco
Lots of empties of ECBP here. For me, RIP batch 7. I've massively enjoyed Batch 7 of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof for a good 10 months. It was 7 bottles of batch 7 that lasted me this long. I searched long and hard after I had that first bottle. I bought local and I bought online. I paid between $51 and $110 each (shipped) for those bottles. Finally, when I couldn't find anymore, I squirreled away my final bottle of batch 7 for about 5 months, enjoying half drams every now and then. But on a whim last night I had a look at my remaining bottle of batch 7, only to find that the absurdly large EC cork had shrunken to the point of being wholly ineffectual. I suppose I could have, for the 30th time, re-soaked the cork and wondered what may have been lost. Or I could have decanted it into a mini. But I decided it was time. So over 3 hours time, I poured those remaining 3 drams, and reminded myself what it was like to really enjoy the best bourbon ever, PVW [PBUH] be damned. This batch 7 is certainly my favorite whiskey ever. At this point, I'd rate my whisk(e)y preferences as rye (high rye, none of that high corn BS), Scotch (or barley malt irrespective) and bourbon...in that order. But EC batch 7, with its massive cocoa butter and Hershey chocolate notes neverminds that, and pushes its way to "best ever." Now, a cursory--albeit drunken--review of winesearcher.com yields only miniatures (WTF,?!...how'd--why'd...they do that?!) of ECBP batch 7 available at 1 online location. So I reckon it's over, except maybe some 70cl samples. Now I'm off to console myself with some ECBP batch 11.
ken_mays
Finally polished off my half bottle of CEHTBP. Half bottle because a friend shared his with me. This had been on the shelf for about a year or so. Not a bad whiskey at all but not worth the coin for me. Now I'll see if I can make a dent in this awful bottle of RRSMBSB. I'm tired of it taking up bar space. Edited July 23, 2016 by ken_mays
Paddy
Polished off the last bits of a fantastic ER10 handle this week. IMO, by far the best value in the 'Trace MB #1 lineup.

elmossle
Had to say goodbye to a bottle of PHC8 last night. Man did that one seem to get better the longer it was open. Wish I had a second one to enjoy. Oh well, off to the next bottle.
smokinjoe
Put down this GBS OESO last night. I was not a big fan of this selection early on, but as things go with my palate over time, things can change. And, they did. I now see why so many of the group wanted this barrel along with the OBSK choice. Very dry and tight at first tastings, but when dialing in a small bit of cool water, or preferably a few ice chips, this one really blossoms for me. Fort Knox
Continuing the apparent trend, I had to say goodbye to a bottle of ECBP, Batch 8 last night. Fortunately, I have a backup, along with 2 bottles of Batch 10. Tonight, I put away the last half-dram of a great bottle of EC10.
