Had to miss it live today so we watched the replay of my University of Louisville Cardinals tonight while doing our own little tasting.  Started with

Weller-Special-Reserve.png  My first taste.  Fell in love with it immediately.  There was really nothing I didn't like about it.  Liked everything about it.  Then moved on to

images   First sip was kind of in your face.  Let it sit for a bit and it opened up.  At first I thought I'm not really going to like this.  As I continued the taste seemed to smooth out.  Since the first pour was 90 proof and the second one was 100 proof we decided to finish the night with

Knob Creek® Single Barrel Small Batch Bourbon   Since I take all my bourbon on the rocks I didn't cut it with any water but let it set for a minute.  For a higher proof pour it was amazingly smooth.  Very full flavor.  Overall a nice night of basketball and bourbon.

UK has lost to Florida. My neighbor and I have now dialed up _Last Chance U_ and we relish our bourbon buzzes. 3rd stiff pour is Elijah Craig NAS on the rocks. On of my mainstays (with Cool Ranch Doritos).db69328894f2652fb90edacc1a156d6a.jpg

PS OWA for me tonight while watching UFC fight night.  It is very good, but, I seem to pass over it a lot.  I am contemplating a move to Texas this summer/fall, so I am rying to clear the opens.

had a b-day party for mrs. dick tonight.......

half of them wine drinkers, half bourbonites. My Booker's, HH BIB gold, and Old Fitz 12 took the hardest hits. I haven't had Fitz 12 in years, but opened one at request of some partiers, and happily obliged. Nothing is too much to celebrate Mrs. Dick!

Having the last pour of a Michters 10y SB.  I did not want to put it in the empty bottle support group (2017) because I think that should be for the bottles that you truly enjoyed drinking.   Not that it was horrible but it was definitely the worst Michters10 year I've ever had.

Well, take solace in at least taking one for the team and sharing your results with the rest of us.  We do appreciate it.  Now I can rest easy knowing I made a good decision passing on this earlier when I had the chance to pick one up.

Too much burn neat, but man it's one of my favorites with a splash of water.   I've bunkered a couple bottles of a local store PS , it's a solid value at $49.99.

I found the regular stock iteration overly hot, but the private store selects much superior and well worth the money. Love them.

Celebrated a friend's birthday and enjoyed two pours of his W12, followed up by OF1920 and finished with OFSig. Some combination of the food or beer worked for my palate because every one of those pours was spot on. I just kept sticking my nose in the second pour of the W12 at the dinner table which drew some good natured laughs from my wife and the other guests.

Never seen any Michter's around here.

I'll take that back, saw some Michter's yesterday. I was thinking McKenna.

Just opened this, it's been a while since I've had it. Still very good.

Cheers!

Started off this Super Bowl Sunday with some barrel strength Bulleit.  I've been enjoying this quite a bit, it hits that proof sweet spot for me at 119.

Now I'm working on some EC PS.  Very mellow and easy to sip.  It's almost time for appetizers.  :D2BB7A6D8-6F08-485F-A45A-789CA097F171_zps

A friend brought over his Bib & Tucker for my Super Bowl. Cinnamon is prominent to my taste buds.

Had a fatty of HH BIB gold, and am now enjoying a contemplative pour of Dickel 9 year while really listening to "Sound of Silence" by both the original Simon and Garfunkel and Disturbed's version of it. Maybe it's the booze, but I really feel this relays to today very well

Opened my first bottle of EW BIB.  It really is a nice-tasting bourbon, especially for the low price.

And a Super Bowl party and most of the pours revolving around Lot B, Jefferson's Pritchard Hill, and Michter's 10 yr

I wasn't going for a theme but apparently it's BT#2 for the super bowl. Started with Blanton's SFTB and then ETL. Maybe RHF as I celebrate with my fellow BC alum Matt Ryan in the fourth quarter? Let's hope so.

Interesting music choices to pair with those bourbons.
