What bourbon did you purchase today (winter 2016/17)?

It has been a Weller friendly two days. I scored a handle last night.
I score this 750 ml tonight. The man behind the counter told me he just put the case out less than half an hour before I bought the last bottle.
I can now pour WSR from my handles into this bottle (after I empty it).

Just got back from traveling to Denmark for work. Picked these up over there for about $114 each out the door. Not bad at all considering pretty much all other bourbons are 2-3x the US price. I looked for some Blanton's SFTB or Gold but no luck on those.

What do we call it now? No more "O" in OWA. WA107? I've yet to see new bottles of any Weller yet.

Great haul.
Man, I've always wanted to visit a Scandinavian country. I hope that you had a good time.

WA107 seems fine to me.  I've seen the SR in the new bottle at a few places in the last month or so.   I guess it's hitting the market now.

I was there for work, so it wasn't all that fun, plus the weather is god awful this time of year.... 30 degrees, but really damp and humid like you are in a cave, 35-40 mph constant wind, and it's dark like 16 hrs a day this time of year.

I do like visiting in the summer, but it sucks in the winter.

That's a great haul at an even better price!  There's a store near me that has three of these and you can walk out the door with them for about $1500 + tax.

This came home with me as well.

Makes me really wonder what invoice cost is on this bottle if it's normally $80-100 shelf price.

Perhaps this was an error on the stores part?

Figured at that price I would at least try it as it has had some favorable mentions around here.

(No, the red tag is not a sale tag.  This store puts red tags on everything) :)

ECBP new style bottle at $65 plus tax. I called and reserved a bottle and because of an after work commitment drove half an hour to pick it up at lunch. Dodged a bullet. They sold the bottle with my name on it to someone else. They gave me a bottle because I named the guys I spoke to on the phone. If I drove down after work, I'd have been the one without a chair when the music ended. They said they got a hundred calls for 6 bottles.

Very nice, thanks for posting. The proof has come down quite a bit.

Never seen an OFSB or that bottle of Weller/label. Is that the new Weller label?

I have been visiting the website of a local LS that has a "buy online" feature, hoping to find the newest batch of ECBP.  Sure enough, yesterday a search for "elijah craig" yielded two results...EC and ECBP.  I added it to the cart just to see if it would kick out an error but it did not!  I decided not to buy online while at work but ran over there after work.  I couldn't find any on the shelves (or even the empty spot for it).  I found a sales person and told him I saw it online and asked if it was behind the counter.  He told me they did have some but it wasn't supposed to be online for sale. :(  It is a great store though so they sold me a bottle ($44.99) and promptly removed it from the website.  I think they must be saving the bottles for a tasting event coming up.

Added it to the bunker with my bottles of batches 7 and 12.  Now I need to finish more open bottles...

I got another bottle of ECBP today. I'm quoting myself to highlight another customer service experience. The ABC website showed that a store near me got a dozen bottles. I called at 8a and asked about it. The woman I spoke to on the phone said they were in the middle of unloading the truck (store opens at 10a) and they didn't know if it was in. I peppered her with the usual questions: do they take names and hold bottles? What time could I call back? She got a bit flustered and said they were really busy and I needed to call back later. I planned to. At 10a my phone rings. It is the store manager, Bill, calling to say that he had a bottle for me and if I gave him my name, he'd hold it. Learning my lesson from yesterday I left both my first and last name.

Now that was great service, however, it's even better. I did not leave my phone number with the woman I spoke to at 8a. After she hung up with me, during the unloading of the truck and in the midst of getting the store ready to open, she told Bill about my call. He then took it upon himself to check the caller ID, pull my number and reach out to me, some unknown guy on the telephone.  Wow! I was very impressed and when I went to pick up the bottle I made sure to find Bill and Virginia and be effusive in complimenting their service. Well done!

Also found a 4pk of founders backwoods bastard I brought home. It was 20 out the door, not sure of that's a good price, but I have been wanting to try it after trying dirty bastard.

You won't regret either purchase.  Backwoods Bastard is one of my personal favorites.  Fire up the grill.  Put some brats on and enjoy both!

No. It was MoCo, Maryland. Probably close enough for you if the southern stores get stock.

This one is a gift. I am going to Louisville for a friend's birthday party. He is a cop. Maybe I can turn some of the force onto some bourbon from Frankfort.
