Had a Lagunitas Brown Shugga' earlier tonight. Very tasty brew, especially for the price.

Cheers!

I had a Lagunitas Aunt Sally on tap at a new beer bar close to my house. The brewery describes this as "a unique dry-hopped sweet tart sour mash ale". It is light bodied, hoppy, tart, fruity, refreshing, and delicious. I didn't have high expectations for some reason but I really like this one

I haven't had this particular one, but I generally enjoy Lagunitas (Little Sumpin Sumpin was my introduction to them and an IPA I still enjoy quite a bit).

Don't know if that is just the picture but it looks pretty dark for Hopslam!

Just the picture - its about normal for hopslam. Bells still does a great job with this beer but I'm finding that i don't go quite as crazy finding it as in the past. Couple of really nice local options also are available now.

I hear you about not scrambling for it as much anymore! I was offered some yesterday but I am trying to cut my beer purchasing even more than my whiskey purchasing (both being a challenge...) so this is probably the first year in a while that I don't seek it out.

Hop slam is great this year again. Not as sweet as it was last year !!!!
Great fresh hop character

Halfway through a bomber of Toppling Goliath Double Dry Hopped Psuedo Sue. Might be my favorite beer overall

Feldschlobchen Urbock from Dresden Germany.  I like beer brewed according to reinheitsgebot.

Basically all barley malt, no corn, or rice, or anything.

I bought this at a store that does not provide bags.  Some folks will know where - ha ha.

It's a really decent Bock at 7% .

I agree, the German Purity Law almost certainly guarantees a quality brew.  Sometimes, less is more.

Yea, when I'm at a beer bar and want to try something new, I almost always gravitate towards something German.

I visited Founders yesterday to drink some of the one offs that they had on tap during their Cellar Raid.  They did not disappoint.  I had BA Founders Bock, Nitro KBS, their Eisbock, BA Curmudgeon Ale, BA Honeystuff (this was excellent!) and Canadian Breakfast Stout.  CBS is incredible and a must try if you ever get the chance.

That sounds amazing!  I'm a big Founders fan.  I would love to try CBS.

Back on topic, I had a Troegs Nugget Nectar.  It was quite good but I still prefer Hopslam.  Yeah, Michigan makes some good beers.

Trying the dirty bastard tonight as a pre bourbon drink. Not bad, a bit thick for me, but I think I can grow into it.

I opened a Prairie Birthday Bomb! tonight. Nice viscous stout, lots of flavors. This is how I remember the regular Prairie Bomb! tasting, honestly, but that's not really a bad thing.

Drinking a Russian River Consecration that I've had tucked away for a couple years. The wine influence from the Cabernet Sauvignon barrels is more apparent than I remember it being in this beer, and I don't normally like such overt wine influence, but it works nicely here. I wish this was easier to find in stores...it used to be readily available but supply seems to have mostly dried up. I'll just have to make the drive up to the brewery one of these weekends.

That's a very good brew. I saw some at the shop, $26 375ml bottle.

I like it as well. I used to drink it fairly regularly when it was available, and I could find it for around $12. Oh well.

Right now I'm drinking the Rodenbach Alexander. Medium tartness and a ton of cherry flavor in this one. Really delicious sour beer, but it is heavy on the cherry.
