REMEMBER!  Go here -

https://www.abc.virginia.gov/stores#/search

and type in "Richmond, VA" and click on "Richmond, VA, United States" (yeah, it's like typing it twice, but . . . B))  The Richmond store addresses and numbers are shown on a printable map.  The stores numbered 182 and 101 sometimes have brands not readily available at other stores.

Thanks, Harry - we'll be staying in Chester, VA south of Richmond.  The VABC store next to the hotel is already on my Favorites bar for one-click shopping to re-stock the bunker with Virginia bourbon.   :D

Opened a bottle of 2016 FRSmbLE which was amazing and happy to share with friends. Just wish I had much more of it.

You'll have to tell me what you think.  I've never shopped South of the James.  The store in downtown Williamsburg, however, gets visited at least once a year even if I don't need anything.

Opened this bottle of BT SB select.

Great nose but the palate and finish aren't near as great as good as my last SB select. Awesome how much variation you can get in these SB select offerings.

Popped the top on this RHF.  I wish this was more available....would stack them deep in the bunker.

You finished it in the time it took you to make the post?

Cracked these today. I've never had either. The gold Blanton's was killer as expected, but the IW Harper was a pleasant surprise. I know it's a lower proof but it's easily one of my favorites thus far.

This was very drinkable even with that proof.

Had to open my own recent purchase of this. This is really good, very happy with this purchase.

Side note game four NBA final is absolutely nuts.

Popped the cork on a couple bottles I scored this week; a store pick of Eagle Rare 10-year SB, and a bottle of Col. EH Taylor Four Grain.

The ER was slightly superior (or at least different in an interesting way) from the regular 'off-the-shelf' ER; so, good on that score.  :P

The 4-G was (to my taste buddies, at least) quite nice!    I know some here have damned it with faint praise; but I found it quite satisfying, although a good deal sweeter than I expected it to be.

I'd even say, that for it's unique style, I'd call it exemplary.     I'd grab several, even at the rather dear cost; but, I'm assuming this one may be the only one I ever see 'in the wild'.

Opening a fresh OGD 114 - time to start mixing up a few vats.

I'm going to buy my first OGD 114 and have been planning the same. My first thought was some BT (2/3 BT with 1/3 OGD). What're you going to mix it with?

I've got a few mingling now that I took out of the SB vatter thread. I'm sure they won't sit too much past tomorrow before I'm into them.

1. 3 Parts George Dickel 12 - 1 Part OGD 114

2. 3 Parts BT - 2 Parts OGD 114 (you're already feeling me there I see or thereabouts)

3. Equal Parts Larceny & OGD 114 - already had just a small snort of this and it's pretty nice I'll tell you

Haven't done it yet, but I can't see how I'm going to make it through the weekend without some OGD BiB coming together with some of what's left of that OGD 114.

Comparing these two, both are good but the SB select really brings out all the good of the BT profile.

I opened up a Jefferson's for the first time. It's OK. Very young. Kind of reminds me of BT, only not as good. It does taste a little like Jefferson's reserve, which I like, but not much.

Next up the new bottle of BT SB select vs. bottle I purchased a couple weeks back. I really prefer the new one in the 375. I'll probably need to get a couple more.
