Was finally able to get together with the guys from our local bourbon and cigar group tonight. Had small pours of MM, Old Forester, 1970's Beam, Weller 12, and Weller 12. Needless to say, it was a great night.

Another good sized pour of standard knob creek. That emptied this bottle and I have enjoyed it:)

Like I said this is my last bottle, I bought 2 a few years back. I'm not a fan of ETL, I would rather spend the same amount else where. I won't mix all of it, but most of it.

My local LS has the one and only bottle of ETL I've ever seen,  and they are doing a drawing for the right to buy it.  If it didn't suit you, probably could have easily found someone to trade it off for something you like.

Found an unopened bottle of blantons in a box from two moves ago. Dumped Dec 2012, just opened it, it's fantastic, legitimately fantastic.

Starting Thursday evening off just right with an old favorite:  barrel 3633 (60.1%).

 

One of the best SAOSSB bottlings I've ever tried.  A caramel & butterscotch candy bomb through and through.

It was last night, but I didn't have time to post until now.  Picked up a bottle of CEHT BP for my son so last night we each had a pour.  I'm already a fan of CEHT SB and this didn't disappoint.  Starts with a big slug of caramel, followed by some spicy molasses with a little bit of oak at the end.  128.1 proof but very smooth.

A couple of pours of Rural Inn Eagle Rare.  A nice barrel select.  Followed with a small pour of a recently opened new bottle of WSR.  As much as I like ER, and this bottle is good, the WSR continues to show well.  I would give it a slight edge between the two.

Haven't found a bottle that let me down yet. 

 

I'm working on a 2008 Evan Williams single barrel right now. Bought it saturday, about half way through.

I really like Elmer, interesting to mix with Coke. I'm not a fan of Coke with bourbon, but this is Kinda of "Baller".

Even if it's a bad barrel or something I'd still keep it around there's better bourbon to mix with Coke.

What would you mix with it? I've done Ginger Ale, Root Beer, Cherry Coke. This is my last bottle, will not buy again.

If I'm going to mix bourbon I'd go with a good ginger ale never been a fan of bourbon and Coke. Better yet try an old fashioned.

Honestly though I'd keep it around for people that might stop over that are bourbon fans that like ETL or try to gift the bottle to a local SBer or something. I like ETL but still think something like EWBiB is a better mixer.

Personally If I ended up with a bottle of ETL I didn't like I have a neighbor who's name is Elmer Lee and would give it to him just for fun.

I've always had bourbon straight, or with coke, going on for about 50 years on and off. Since 2010, or so neat. Sometimes with Coke, Ginger Ale.
