I have a bit of an inability to get a new bottle without trying it, so I have lots of open bottles and not so many not open, so this post could pretty much qualify for "What's Open on Your Bar?" too.

Not much to say about these that hasn't already been said :)

The Willetts are 7yr/116 and 9yr/127.4. I was really happy to get the second PHC 2010, I think it's an amazing pour.

Clearly I am partial to peat.

"Drink us!" for whatever reason (easily replaced, standard pours, stuff I would like to be gone, etc) - this is the eye level shelf. Booker's just moved down from the top shelf, I've had that bottle a long time and I'll get to know it a little better before it's gone. My giant Buffalo Trace is about to give up the ghost too.

KF6Kb.jpg

The age-stated OWA is the first bottle I ever bunkered. 3 WTR101s recently joined it; I might pick up a few more of those.

AXzfs.jpg

Agave spirits and a bottle of brandy. That Del Maguey Vida mezcal is great. So is Siete Leguas tequila.

WmVlt.jpg

A few more random bottles.

Notably absent from my shelves are any Four Roses products. Hopefully I will get a chance to rectify that situation soon.

I think you've graduated to hoard territory! :toast:

I give him a pass on hoarding because he only has a lot of the right bottles! (I'm drooling over all that ER 101 btw)

Finally, some photos of the stash. I try to arrange by brand/type. I focused on the bourbon, obviously.. though some of the bottles I have, like the 60's Mount Gay, I think are pretty unusual.

Random notes:

Some you can't see, especially in the second pic with the plastic trays, are the OT BiB from the late 60's/early 70's, and OGD BiB from same era. Small bottles. Anyway, too much to catalog in text.

In the first pic, the two decanters are 86 proof Old Taylor (from the castle decanter you see later), and 1949 OT BiB. And yes, it's good!

Also, in the minis tray (6th pic) are a late 40's Rittenhouse BiB and 2 Henry McKenna jugs. Those were the first "cool, really old" bottles I found.

Oh, and the little Hill & Hill pint is from Louisville.

I've recently moved our bar out of the rumpus room onto the back verandah, and as the family takes over the rumpus room more and more, decided to move the majority of the bourbon into our old study. The room isn't really being used as a study any more since we threw the pc's and went the way of laptops and is too long and skinny to turn into a bedroom. As a plus, it's under the house on the southern side so doesn't get direct sunlight...

The new shelves

The old fridge cavity (that used to be behind the bar) in the rumpus room with some shelves installed.

Camduncan, I really like the shelves with the lighting. I might have to look into something like that if my collection grows larger.

Nice collection there and that's a swell looking bar!

thanks! I sort of inherited it years ago. I think it's from the 50's or 60's...not quite sure.

Thanks! They're a couple of Ikea units and light systems. It's about the 3rd or 4th attempt in 10 years at creating a display I'm really happy with. But I can't take all the credit. A photo of the bar at Bourbons Bistro inspired me to create a display, and Scott (hightower) gave me the idea of using a cube setup..
