Can't blame you, I walked into it :) As long as what happens in SB stays in SB...

I'm really not sure I can promise that buddy. ;) Even though I may be a moderator, I gotta get whatever leverage I can.

Cheers! Joe

Booker's batch 2013-7, man I love Booker's

That's a good one. I've got one open and a couple bunkered.

In Vegas for work. Found a little oasis with some Weller 12, decently priced by Vegas standards.

Plus a pretty nice selection of some others to boot!. c0f59444812399a164b94cf0d8f6cef7.jpg

Opened this one tonight and I really like it.  Lots of flavor and not overly hot.

(You guys - posting about OGD 114 = going to cost me a liver or two.)  I notice you have what looks like a fridge ice machine ice cube in there.  As I recently posted elsewhere on SB, THAT's the way I usually drink it.  That sized cube takes the proof down to 105 or thereabouts.

Tonight was a light dinner at a local restaurant where everybody knows our name.  I was offered the dregs of a basic BT, neat, so they could open a new 750.  I, of course, accepted.  A couple ginger ales on the side to space out the sips, and I was set.

That OGD114 sure stands up well to ice, doesn’t it? Quite the nice summer drink poured over a few cubes.

Tonight I had a pour of two different local RRSB selections. Both were very good, but I think I have a favorite. Will need to do a proper SBS to confirm.

This was my first time buying OGD114 after hearing several people talk about it on here.  For a bottle that cost me less than $25, I was impressed.  Definitely a good value in my opinion.

It really does stand up well to ice.  My first pour was in a Glencairn glass, but I felt the bourbon opened up when I poured it in a tumbler with a cube.

I haven't seen any RRSB selections in my area lately, but the last one I had was outstanding....and didn't last me very long.

I might have to pick up a bottle of this to compare it against my OF1920 which is over twice that price (and the WTRB which is about $45). I'm betting it's comparable in taste.

How could you be eating out during game 4 with everything on the line and Strasburg pitching the game of his life? I'd have to give you a thumbs down if they had such a thing here. ;)

Well, it's your loss, I am not telling you my actual bourbon fantasies then.

When I watch the Nats post-season, they lose (and I've been watching since I attended their third game pre-Lerners way back when).  But I have learned that, when  I borrow people's phones (don't have one of my own, or at least don't know how to use it) just to check the score, they win.  Don't believe me?  I tuned in as Werth came to bat with the bases loaded.  Called third strike.  I stopped watching for awhile.  Tuned back in as Taylor stepped up with bases loaded - immediately turned it off.  Grand Slam.

Do you REALLY want to take the chance that this is all coincidence????

Please do the exact same tonight. Our Nats need all the luck they can get!     Unfortunately last night. I didn't have a Bourbon pour until after the game.  Can't risk changing the luck tonight so it may be a long Bourbanless night????

Started with a Four Roses OBSK and following that up with an Elijah Craig store pick. Not sure what’s on deck for the game tonight — go Cubs!

It's been a frustrating week at work so far. There's been multiple problems with our operating system. It's been a pain in the a**. <_< I'm having a couple of pours from my "leftover" Weller Blend. After work tomorrow, I'll probably need something barrel strength.

Cheers! Joe

Decided I better try the recipe for Wafflez before the tailgate so I pulled a mixer bourbon out of the cabinet (Towne Branch) and mixed one up.  It wasn't bad.

Wafflez - Shot of bourbon, shot of butterscotch schnapps topped off with Dr. Pepper.

All month, I've been drinking on a really nice bottle of standard BT (along with several open PS KCSB's).  Tonight, I decided to interrupt the regularly scheduled programming with a bit of ECBP

Glad I did...:)

P. S. I'm too lazy to get up to see what the proof/batch is (besides, I'm watching baseball and football here:lol:), but I can report that it's an old style bottle.
