The MM has a more prominent nose but not as complex. Similar palate but a much nicer finish with the Makers. Was able to get the MMCS for $17 for a 375ML, normally it costs I’m sure more. I usually get the Weller Antique for average of $25 for a 750. The MMCS is a great substitute for the Antique and there’s no way I’d pay more for it than the MMCS, Weller hype has got out of hand. When it was first introduced, MMCS was around $30.00-$35.00 for a 375. It's now usually somewhere in the neighborhood of $50.00 for a 750. The price you you paid for a 375 was a great deal. I'm really having a hard time understanding what you're talking about when you say that the Weller hype has gotten out of hand though. OWA at $25.00 a bottle is a pretty decent price. I'd buy it at that price in a heartbeat, and I'm sure most other Weller lovers would too. Joe

Especially if you can buy the MMCS for less.

I find the 2 nothing alike. MMCS (I've only had one bottle) was a one trick pony. It was just a super syrup sweet palate and hot quick finish compared to OWA. I think my bottle was around 112 proof. I decided I would not buy another bottle of MMCS based on that one. I love the leather, caramel, cinnamon red hots thing from OWA. PS of OWA typically ramp those things up a notch or 3. Yes I'm a Weller fanboy and OWA/WA107 is probably my favorite all around bourbon. I can usually find it between $22 and $35. PS versions usually push closer to $40. HoustonNit
^Agree the MMCS was not as complex as OWA but I didn’t feel it was hot at all. I definitely need to do a blind wheater tasting. I think any Weller was vastly better than standard MM when I did them blind last time. I think MMCS holds up to the Antique but I’ll need to do it Blind. I had a pour of W12 right before the MMCS and OWA SBS. It still has the most going on, chocolate, dried cherries and some wood/leather. If only it was higher proof. This weekend I’ll plan to do the following blind. W12RY10yrSBMMMMCS WSROWAOFitz BiB I’ll be shocked if W12 isn’t clearly on top and MM clearly on bottom. Now for the others no idea how they come out.

I watched Dexter till part way through the episodes with the guy from 3rd Rock as the serial killer. I need to go back and start watching it again. I don't watch much when anything first comes out. I usually binge watch later.

PaulO
I finally got around to trying Jim Beam Bonded. It's a nice easy drinker for 100 proof. I think the Distiller's Cut is much more interesting, and well worth a few more bucks.

flahute
Found another good barrel of RY10yr. Following it up with a ORVW10yr (from '16) and honestly I have to say I like the RY10 better.

You wouldn't believe the amount of crap you have to get checked in order to get a joint replacement. I just had a root canal and would dearly love a pour of OF1920.
