I’m just awe struck!! You have done it all, Coveted bottles, Whiskey art, memorabilia, beautiful woodwork and backdrop. Super job. Congratulations Cheers
fishnbowljoe
The subject of WLW came up in the “What Bourbon Are You Drnking” thread, and rather than get long winded there, I figured I’d get long winded here. @flahute had mentioned he opened a 2021 WLW, and a couple of us asked how it was. He said it was good. I said I have a 2020 WLW open that was about a 1/3 full. I mentioned that I had a 2021 in my bunker, and I knew what I was gonna do when my 2020 was empty. So anyway…….. My stock of WLW’s has been slowly depleted over the years for a few reasons. I’ve been drinking them. I always have at least one open on my cabinet. I don’t make the rounds to relentlessly “hunt” them down. I really never have. Before things got so crazy, I had a few go to stores, and I could usually count on at least one of them to come through for me. Sadly this is no more, and it doesn’t really matter whether I’m a good customer or not. When and if I do find them, I refuse to pay “tater” prices. Last year I was at a store and saw one high up on a shelf behind the counter for $1,299.00. And last but not least, my success with Pappy/BTAC/LE raffles seems to be mostly on an every other year basis. . Oh well. Anyway, like I said, I currently have a 2020 WLW open. I only have three left in my bunker. One is the aforementioned 2021. The other two are from 2007. Yep. Not a typo, 2007. For some reason, I fell in love with the 2007 WLW. Luckily, and as crazy as it may sound, I kept finding them on the shelves at a number of different stores. I actually bought a three bottle case from one store in 2010 or later. At one time I had seven of the 2007’s along with several from other years. Ahh the good old days. Biba! Joe

Mattk
Got some of my new to me shelving in today. Before the bottle count seemed a bit high for the space. But now I don't need to worry for a while. Liquor stores here I come. I figure by the time I move the cabinet upstairs too I'll have the capacity to expand at my leisure for a few years to come.

You never know when the cheeseball golds gonna run dry and the king of the hill come tumbling down! Plus now ya gotta go through the whiskey to get to cheeseballs. Which, I wonder, how nicely does whiskey and cheeseballs pair?
