I actually like the 81 proof, but the 101 is a classic, and the new bottlings have been extra tasty.

The picture of your stash made me smile. I have a fairly similar picture from when I first started my bourbon journey. I had 3 bottles; Maker’s Mark, Knob Creek, and Woodford Reserve. Biba! Edd
Been away from the forum for awhile, just moved into the new house and still trying to figure out where to put stuff, but the missus allowed me to hang a couple of shelves for now. The cabinet is also full with unopen bottles.

I picked this up at an old mom and pop antique store. It's beat to hell but I think it adds to the character. It has written on it: I cover my heart with my hat When they fly the red, white, and blue Just like my daddy taught me How about you

Cincybearcats
Very nice find @Edd. This is actually a piece designed by country music star Eric Church and manufactured by Pulaski. The words on the front are lyrics from his song How ‘Bout You. Highly desired by Eric Church fans (tho maybe not as much now since he canceled a concert Saturday in San Antonio to attend the UNC - Duke game Saturday) And I too salute our veterans - my grandpa was a drill Sargent and my nephew is currently in the Army Honor Guard. Much respect to all of you!
Adam777
Here’s the latest pic of the bar. Tried to organize by distillery. Currently enjoying a Ezra Brooks Cask Strength that surprised me about how good it is.

Dean E
My collection is in our great room. Had to purchase a bigger cabinet as the collection grows quicker than I can drink it but I do my best. Dean

I’ve seen them “out there” but have no sense as to their absolute or relative quality. My 2 cents: The TSM is the Cab Sav barrel finish. It's a decent finished bourbon and I can definitely taste the Cab Sav flavors. Would I buy it again? Even at retail, probably not. The OE is also a barrel finished (Armagnac cask) and actually pretty solid. It has a strange kind of "dough-ish" scent to it but nothing that really ruins it for me, as I'm very partial to an Armagnac finish. That being said, it doesn't justify the high MSRP that I paid for it (believe it was around $90 from what I remember). The Yellowstone is a SiB Hand Pick. I really enjoyed it but quite honestly forgot I had it sitting in a cabinet due to some of the other higher end stuff I've been able to get my hands on lately. Will be re-cracking this open tonight and would for sure buy it again. Smoke Wagon is a great pick up for the $35 I found it for. It's their base bourbon and I really enjoy it as an "every day" kind of pour. I've heard great things about their higher-end Uncut/Unfiltered version but have yet to try it. The Stellum is their SiB "Lyra" variation and I'm very impressed by it. This one has a lot of complexity that I've yet to find in similarly priced SiB (at least from our meager selection in NC). The other variations are the "Cygnus" and "Vega," in which I've read good things about as well (particularly the Vega). All this being said, I'm a sucker for Barrell products, so I might be biased. Regardless it tastes damn good.

Still, it'd be embarrassing to tell St Pete (or the other guy) "I'm here because I smoked Swisher Sweets" . I mean, at least make it "worth it". Go Cuban or least Dominican, etc. Ditto with bourbon equivalents. Got those Mad Dog 20/20 (or bourbon equivalent) days behind me. I do have some fond memories of the some of the very cheapest bourbons. My grandad lost a leg which, after a certain advanced age, interfered with his ability to drive. So on holidays it become my job to pick him up and take him home (always fun, he was a trip). He viewed his job as getting me to drink enough Old Grand Dad or Ezra Brooks to have to stay the night when I dropped him off. As a Great Depression person, it was always the cheapest versions he could find; that was just hard-wired. Had a lot of fun with both old grandads. But I ain't drinking those particular bottles again! Nor Southern Comfort. Nor Guggenheimer. Nor the particularly interesting concoction my grandmother made by blending those two and adding Coca Cola.
