A little squirt of Fighting Cock 103...for something that sells for $16 at Woodmans this is pretty solid. I don't know how Heaven Hill does it but they seem to nail the affordable-whiskey-that-punches-above-its-weight concept (especially EWSB, which is almost never absent from my counter these days...)

Preparing for a hurricane and having a really good pour of KC store pick that is 15 years old. KC had some great SB the last couple of years.

Be safe. This is a bad one. Having grown up in NW La, we got the hurricanes only after they lost much of their punch. This one is different and is expected to reach Shreveport as a cat1.   This is the first time I have heard a storm referred to as unsurvivable on the weather channel.

How is the KC 12 year?

I’m really enjoying it. Perfect amount of oak for me, well balanced, and a nice tobacco note.

Cracked and poured some BT last night that I picked up earlier this week. Fire time I’ve had a regular BT in some time. The last two were PS’s.

Thanks!

I really like KC and had this one in-hand, last week,  but didn't pull the trigger.  I'll have to snag one next time. I have several bottles of various KC ryes.  If you like rye, and KC, you may really like theirs.

Enjoying a pour of EWSiB 2010. Tonight, I can taste cherry. I've not picked up that before. Quite nice.

Cheers

Decided to crack it last night. Really enjoyed. Lush on the palate with a long very spicy finish.

I’ve had this bottle since it came out but have yet to try it.   Rainy night with some baseball on the radio seemed like a good time to give it a whirl. Go Bourbon!  Go Cubs!

Wife and I installed roll up shades on our gazebo yesterday. It went well and we are very pleased with the outcome. I am having a bit of blade and bow tonight

I had heard this pick was good, so I picked this up yesterday for $40 OTD. There were 2 bottles, and I grabbed 1. Upon opening it last night I immediately knew I made a mistake by not grabbing both. I wouldn't have thought a 5 year bourbon would be in the middle of my wheelhouse, and I was wrong. It's good to see MGP with another run of fantastic bourbon.

This bottle will probably be in the recycling bin relatively soon.

Very Old Barton 90 proof for me tonight.  Drinking very nicely for a $13.99 bottle.  Glad I have a few bunkered, as they disappear quickly here when they show up.......

Feeling a little messy tonight so I put on my BIB (pun intended).  Don't ask me to pick a winner.  They're all good.
