Enjoying this while finally getting around to folding/putting away the laundry in the basket that I’ve been stubbing my toe on all week at the foot of the bed.

Tried this Founder's Bottle Shop Nemesis tonight. Missed the 75 IBU marking. Whew it's got hops on the finish. Weird because its malty and smooth going in but bitter going out. Almost no hops aroma. I would have really liked this with the hops dialed back.

Cellar it for a couple of years.  It will lose a lot of the IBU action.

Back in the day it was really hard to get even a bottle of this and then it was 5 to 7 dollar per bottle.  Now I can find in on the shelves at my local grocery store.

That was the only bottle I bought.  Haven't seen any more of it so have none to cellar.  Yeah with some aging to smooth out the bitter it would have been pretty good.

Love the Paulaner, always pick some up around this time.  Recently tried some Wienstephaner Festbeer which I thought was really good.

Finished off my last (of a 12 pack) Devils Backbone O'Fest this AM (needed some refreshment AFTER pole sawing a dozen or so dead limbs from some cedar trees).  I had forgotten how good 5% ABV beer can be when one is sweaty.

I am now officially out of Octoberfest beers.  I shall be switching to imported Doppelbocks and Martzens until after T'giving.

EDIT - AND NOT ONE OF THEM WILL HAVE ANY PUMPKIN FLAVOR IN THEM!! Damned be him/her who drinks ANYTHING with pumpkin flavour in it!!  Now, candy corn?  Is a whole 'nother addiction.  Like Reese's Pieces, I can eat candy corn by the POUND!

Sorry to pumpkin fanatics in beverages, but agree here, might as well sh%t in the beer. Way better REAL beer available! Not a fan of pumpkin beer ( or pumpkin coffee, or pumpkin anything else )..

My new favorite marzen.   Dethrones the Ayinger for me.  Perfect beer as the nights get earlier and colder.

I really liked Paulaner Salvator but haven't found it anywhere for several years now.

My go Oktoberfest this year is Atwater Block Bloktobrfest, their old German style beers are usually very good.

I second the Salvator. I haven't seen/found it quite a while.

Some 2018 Bramble with a dinner of homemade "manwich" and crusty French bread. Mrs. Clueby actually liked this stout.

I don't have any Skrewball or I'd have made a PB&J.

This day started out with so much promise of getting several things done around the house.  Then, things took a turn for the better 😁when I sat my arse down in my chair outside on a gloriously Sunny and mid 60 degree day with my favorite Porter.  I guess I’ve now made my choice for the rest of my day!  😎

None of the bourbons I tried were tasting good so I switched to beer for the kickoff of Sunday Night Football.

This is my first taste of a special Deschutes Jubleale that is barrel aged in bourbon barrels along with a cherry infusion.

This is good!

Announcement last week that Bell’s Brewery in Kalamazoo has been acquired by New Belgium brewing. Larry Bell , the founder of Bell’s, indicated that health issues were a primary reason for his selling the brewery and his retirement.  I think that NB is a good fit but we shall see.

Has anyone tried this?

Haven't had that one but they did this with Brooklyn Brewing in 2019 and I that one was excellent.
