Kepler
For this year's Octoberfest sixpack purchase I decided to go with this one, based largely on Joe's post above, but also just because I enjoy this brand. Good decision. Shout out to @smokinjoe Edited September 25, 2021 by Kepler
Kjbarth
Homecoming at Purdue. Son at game. Illinois at Purdue. This Yuengling Octoberfest is really good. Finishing these up and then will start on my German Octoberfest beers.

smokinjoe
Another local Oktoberfest. Never even had heard of Still Fire Brewing, which is up the road in Suwanee. A very solid offering, this is. Very nice toasty biscuitiness, which really shows well on the finish.

scratchline
Since everybody's doing it... Never had this one before. Really solid American marzen. Very crisp, maybe a little metallic on the finish but after a couple of sips you don't notice at all. A little more alcohol than some others but just a little. Crushable. I love this style for football viewing.
fishnbowljoe
FWIW, y’all have made me start looking at beer when I visit a liquor store. Thanks a lot. Biba! Joe
scratchline
I started with A and after a few sips shifted to B. I love Tree House and love them even more now that they're vending beer on Cape Cod. And I think they accomplished everything that they promised with Smooth Creamsicle. It lives up to its name. And at a one can per customer limit, I'm glad I picked up a can. And maybe in the middle of summer heat after mowing the lawn it would be perfect. But canned on the last Friday of Summer and cracked on almost the first Friday of Fall, with the farm stands full of pumpkins and wool blankets already on the beds...it just don't fit. It ain't quite right. And the Goose Island IPA that a friend abandoned in the fridge is a much less flashy but more fitting friend for the crisp close of day. I don't think I've ever had one of these and it's no world beater, but it's fine, just fine. And going for the last sip and finding a bug in the glass, I think I might just have to open another. smokinjoe
On to the Germans! Extremely silky and balanced Hofbrau Oktoberfestbier. Almost, too balanced, but dang is it drinkable.
PaulO
I was at the Beech Grove Holy Name Church Oktoberfest and got to try Rhinegeist Oktoberfest Beer (brewed in Cincy) on tap. I was impressed, very true to style. I checked out the brewery's web site and saw plenty of other brews I'd like to try. Oh, and the German food at the festival was top notch too. Everyone friendly and laid back - good times.

When I was there over Labor Day weekend I tried the Oktoberfest Beer and liked it quite a bit. Everything they make is good.

The Beech Grove church chose wisely.
Kjbarth
Watching the Giants game Sunday, broke out some Germans. Paulaner Octoberfest bier in the quart can. 3x 11.2oz bottles Paulaner Octoberfest Marzen 1x 12oz bottle Spaten Octoberfest Marzen
smokinjoe
I have more of the Oktoberfest beers from the Fatherland to go, but so far this Bitburger Festbier is my favorite German so far. It has much more going on in the biscuitiness category on the palate, and more body to it than the previous ones, while still being extremely easy drinking. smokinjoe
Ayinger Oktoberfest, after a full day. I tend towards liking the darker Marzens over the lighter colored ones. More malty, biscuity, and silky. This is sorta in the middle. For all of them though, we’re really talking splitting hairs in the enjoyment category, as they are all good.
smokinjoe
The wheat style just doesn’t work for me in Oktoberfests. I’d like it more at another time though, I’m sure.

Paddy
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Its’s always solid, but this year’s Sammy will hold its own with any of them, IMO. Good stuff!

After going with American Oktoberfests in September, and switching completely over to Germans so far in October. I went back to a SA yesterday, and it is still the best of all of them…as it is every year for me. Enjoying a Paulaner Oktoberfest at the moment, and it is another good one, but Sammy still tops it for me.
