Wedelstaedt
Enjoying a couple of pours of BT PS. Whenever, I try this bottle, it always has a strong THH note of fig. Which, is awesome. This BT is by and far away, the best BT I've enjoyed. Cheers

I have really become fond of this bottling over the last month or so. Chewier than the standard Maker's, for sure, and with a delightfully long finish. The notes that come through most clearly for me are cherry cola and salted caramel, but there are bits of raisin and a nice little vanilla-leather duo in that finish. Unexpected. Glad I didn't pass this by. Agree this is the best Makers. It's the perfect proof, and worth the extra money. I've needed to replace my bottle for months; the only reason I haven't is I only occassionally drink wheaters.

Jazzhead
As Sunday afternoon turns to gloaming, the mahogany color of this Thomas C Moore Port Cask glows. Nice December pour.

flahute
A newly open Stagg Jr (batch 17, the current batch) and it's stellar. Also a Weller 107 - purchased a while back but the current label. Has that cinnamon that 107 can often have but is good.

mbroo5880i
I have been working on a bottle of FRSiB this weekend. I enjoyed a couple of pours last night but I was so tired I posted my experience in the Rye Forum. Maybe it is because the flavor and finish has been nothing but spicy goodness. Second bottle from this barrel. Not sure if I can find another but I will return to the retail source and see if I can sort through the bottles to find another. Anyway, enjoying a couple more pours tonight as I prepare to return to the work place tomorrow to complete a few major projects before the end of the year. Oh, who am I kidding? I plan to have another pour, as I flip back and forth between the Bears-Packers game and the Hallmark movie. bayouredd
Kinda' Kool Circumstance... Went to late mass and the Bishop was there delivering services. We played basketball together when he was a seminarian. I was ecstatic seeing him and he returned the excitement; both showing years of tatters... Well, that was deserving of Phoning Home!!!

Kudos on the PH... Truly love those old bluesmen... Never saw Buddy Guy, but saw Muddy Watters, BB King and Bobby Blue Bland live in two different shows...

fishnbowljoe
A mysterious package showed up on my front porch yesterday. In it were a couple of samples sent to me as a retirement gift from a fellow member. Thanks again. Last night, I opened one of the samples, and tonight I’m finishing it off. It’s a 109 proof MM ps. And it’s pretty darned good. The nose is a big fat vanilla bomb with a bit of oak in the background. The flavor is about the same. The vanilla and oak are still present, but hints of spice are also there. Not a cinnamon/red hot type spice, but more of a cooking or baking spice like allspice or Beau Monde. I only remember tasting this a couple of times before. Entry is a bit warm, and the proof is noticeable. The heat and flavors become even a bit more apparent in the mid-palate. The finish, well you’ve all heard of the gift that keeps on giving. This is a finish that keeps on finishing. It’s long and warm, and long and warm, and etc… Good stuff. FWIW, I bought a MM FAE-02 earlier this year. I like this MM ps much better than the FAE-02. Just sayin’. Biba! Joe

markandrex
Having a big pour of MM MR 1-3, an experimental wood finishing series. We just got utilities back after Friday storms/tornados. Nothing like Mayfield but 12 dead in town with a lot of damage around the city. The wife and I were fortunate, many in town are not.

JakeySnakes
After having a hellish last week, in which my almost 2 year old son got the stomach "flu", followed by me getting it, I FINALLY felt well enough to open a bottle of JW Dant I purchased earlier in the month, and had a nice pour. Man do I love JWD. It's got this great peach-infused-black-tea thing happening I really dig.

HoustonNit
Got a sample of a 20 month, cask strength, “single malt” whiskey from a Houston distillery Whitmeyer’s. A friend was gifted it and he gave me a sample bottle. A good chance the whiskey isn’t good of the sample bottle is overflowing. Very unique nose like a dirt with a lot of decaying plants in it, not quite manure? Ha something I get sometimes from bad scotch I guess. The taste is like some type of artificial chocolate. Strongest chocolate note I’ve ever had from a whiskey but not a good chocolate. Like the chocolate my kid won’t eat from his Christmas advent calendar but worse. Not quite that it’s killing that I can’t what chocolate product taste like this, maybe chocolate laffy taffy? Took this pic off the web, Reddit.
