It was a bottle of OWA. It was the closest bottle to the door. I don’t really think they knew the value of the bottles on my shelf, as much as they just wanted to grab a bottle of whiskey because they’re thieves. Otherwise, they would’ve grabbed something of higher value (that’s my guess). It could’ve been worse (much worse), so that’s the positive thing I’m trying to focus on.

My wife and I have discussed this many times, and I think this is the right time to get a lock for the doors in my office. I guess this was the lesson I needed in order to make that decision.

Sorry for your loss. I'd bet that team has been taking things from other residences too.

Had the grandbabies and parents over for my 74th Birthday Party today.  Home-made tabooli and pita bread with fresh mint from the garden, chinese BBQ chicken, kalbi marinated sirloin strips, Greek salad.  But the best part was the chocolate/chocolate birthday cake with FRYL fresh from the freezer.  Now this was a marriage made in heaven!   😋

That sucks.  I agree that if they were that bold to grab a bottle of whiskey this probably wasn't the first time they have taken something from someone's house.  As the furniture store assesses how to address this issue, a friendly reminder that not only does this reflect poorly on their store and employees but theft is illegal.  Then show them secondary pricing for a bottle of OWA.

Happy Birthday!  74?  You don't look at day over 73 1/2!   Actually, you look a lot younger than your age.  I suspect all of the bourbon you drink is preserving your youthful nature.

I do have to ask.  What is the figurine behind the tissue box doing?  It looks like he is pinching one off.

Sounds like you had a great time!  Well deserved, enjoy!

My favorite regularly available Rye.  I found EC Rye to enjoyable as well although at a lower proof.  I also like WTR101 and OFR100, if only it were available.

Some people would file a police report.

There may be other homes where the people don't even realize stuff is gone yet.

The weather here in the last week has seen record high temps in the mid 90’s. It eased up quite a bit today, and my wife and I were finally able to move our fire table onto our back patio. Normally I’d have a pour ot two out back, but tonight I just sat outside with my wife and we just relaxed for a while. We’ve had lots going on lately, so it was really nice to be able to just kick back and catch our breaths. When we came back in, I had a pour or three of MM. 🙃 Same old, same old, in quite a good way. 😋

Congrats on the 74th, but from the looks and sounds of it, you were congratulated extremely well already...

Happy Bday!!

It was EC night in your honor last night. Mostly all things HH with a couple notable outliers. I have to say I was a bit underwhelmed by the HH17.

4RYL and golf on the back patio. Unfortunately a storm is coming, so I'll be moving inside pretty soon.

Wow, that is spectacular!  Looks like some great pours!

I do have to ask.  What are those clear bottles with blue labels and white caps?  😀

MM46

I have been seeing these bottles recently.  So, this is the same MM46 but just repackaged, right?  I wonder why they thought this product needed to be repackaged.  Now, if they would have bumped it to 101 proof, then repackaging would have made sense.  I like the MM101 bottle, proof, and whiskey.  MM needs to strive to replicate that with MM46.

I wiped out a sizable pour of MM101 to empty the bottle.  Now, working on a pour of Woodinville Single Barrel.

Yes, same stuff differently labeled, why?  IDK.

They do have MM46 cask which is above 101 if I am not mistaken.

Yes.  I have seen MM46 cask strength with the standard staves.  It is good.  But, it normally sells at the same price as store selections which in my area is $69.99.  This said, I bought two bottles, at different times, for $39.99.  They were on sale.  MM46 Cask Strength for $39.99.  Sign me up!  MMCS was around $33.99 for a long time.  Now, it has crept up to the low $40s.

As near as I can tell, MM has two different bottle variations. MM 46 was the same bottle type as the MM Private Select and Wood Finishing Series. The other bottle type was used for MM, MM Cask Strength, and MM 101. It appears that MM just switched the 46 to the other bottle type. So, it looks like the regular Maker’s offerings of MM, MM 46, MM CS and MM 101 are one bottle variation, and the special releases of Private Select and Wood Finishing are the other.  Not sure about the MM CS. It wasn’t listed on the MM website.
