I'm picking up where @markandrex left off last night.

Some W12 this afternoon.  while watching some baseball.  This bottle is getting very low.

The same way it started, Weller 12, all in.  So much so, it carried over to Sunday.

If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

In the mood for a tickle from Dickel. I am a fan of Dickel in general, and grabbed several of these when Lake Street Liquor stocked them in 2014. Still have 4 our 5 left.

It was a good one. I still have the 3 sample barrel kit that the barrel was picked from. Ms Sue (that had LSL back then) gave me the kit. Search good juice. Enjoy

Enjoying one of my FrankenBlends tonight:  2/3 Barrel Dovetail with 1/3 EW 1783.  The Dovetail drinks a little hot and is an intense flavor bomb so the 1783 tones it down a bit for when I am not in the mood.

Enjoyed a few pours of Legent which, by my calculations, cost about $1 per pour.  Yeah, rightio.

Time to pick up a few more bottles.

Cut the corner of the end of my thumb off preparing dinner this evening. Just a flesh wound. So I poured some Larceny 922 for conciliation. I must say, it’s very good. Highly recommend.

I would not recommend cutting your finger or thumb tip off. Very overrated.

Tried another FrankenBlend tonight, something like 70% Knob Creek 9; 20% Benchmark FP; and 10% OF 100.  It has potential so I may work on fine tuning it.  I have been having fun playing with blending.  Nobody is gonna call me Mattsy Fraley but I like some of the ones I have tried.

I wish I had that option for consolation when I cut the tip of my thumb off, but unfortunately I was in 8th grade.

Followed up with a small pour of Still Austin.  It is now on the judiciously conserve list.

I was surprised at how much I liked the Still Austin CS. The 2y statement scared me off until enough people said "try it".

I have a client who lives near the distillery.  He picked up a few 4y CS for me. $90 each, so perhaps not Cheap Bastard Approved.  Double the years, almost double the price. I'll report back once I get them.  I have enough Cheap Bastard in me to not ship them.  Will just wait until I'm over there, he's over here, or someone is traveling from there to here.

You have found some interesting ones.  The 2015-2 arrived in Columbus.  So I'll try one once I'm back up there this summer. Unless a mule happens to bring one down to PR first. I'll be curious to see how it stacks up against 2022 versions.

Though after having had the Bookers 30th Anniversary that Richnimrod so generously shared in Kentucky, I'm probably ruined forever after. Ruined.

PS: My daughter referred to our exchange in Paris as "resembling a drug deal" and added "but an efficient one".  Saucy, that one.

Hey, no worries; I once severed up the end of my finger in an omelet!!!

It was to my kids, so they kind of deserved it. We laughed about it for a year or two, but they never ask for omelets when they visit... 🫢

That must have been one tough omelet.  I can usually cut mine with a fork.  🤪
