Envious bull shit on my part. Sorry Frank @GeeTenyou are slipping to number two on who i want to be when i grow up.

Of course,  i will probably never fully grow up. At least that is the @fishnbowljoemodel. 🙃

Whoa, whoa, whoa!  I resemble that remark!

This isn’t as bad as everyone says.

I mean…..

I’m not buying it again, but it’s not a drain pour.

I raise a glass to support you with that sad news about the Pac-12.  It's terrible what greed is doing to our favorite sport.  Cheers buddy.

Thanks for the support good sir. Couple days for it to sit in and still in disbelief. Yah I used to love Saturdays but just won’t be the same anymore. On the brightside, it got me to dive into some really good whiskies!

As a Cal and Pac-12 fan,  brought out some big guns to get through the sad day. What a gut punch moment in life. Saturdays won’t be the same. I hope everyone beats the crap out of USC and UCLA (yes I’m extremely bitter at the moment…sad, angry, bitter, hard to describe).

Shared a drink of Pappy Van Winkle 20 Year Old Bourbon (getting close to bottle kill) with Jared Goff and Marshawn Lynch in remembrance of the Pac12 and Cal football as we know it. As for the whiskey, incredible nose - couldn’t stop smelling the glass after drinking. Maybe more enjoyable the taste which is saying a lot.

Followed by a fresh bottle crack of Glenmorangie Signet Whisky. Wow the chocolate note hit immediately like I’ve never experienced before. Insanely good but sad the pricing of this has shot up recently.

Finished it off with Midleton Very Rare 2021 Edition. Everything that I want out of an Irish whiskey. Got that vanilla start then hits with some citrus. Extremely long finish.

As a Buckeye in the Big 10 I don’t want your teams. Not because I’m afraid to have them here but because I absolutely love the regional identities of all the different conferences. Now that I live in Seattle and get to watch a lot of Pac 12 football I share in your sadness and frustration. The Big 10 is also losing its identity with these additions.

I'm enjoying some JD Single Barrel Select my brother gave me as a gift.  The 375ml bottle is so cute.  And yes, it is Bourbon. 😃

What do you think.

We had a Big Red store locally do a special event where people waited in line to get tickets for chances to buy almost all the allocated stuff from BT.  They had BTAC, VW, and so on.  The one thing they did not have is Weller.  Pretty crazy eh.  That's how it goes around here.

Yeah, I get why this is happening but definitely the loss of identity and what made college football (college sports in general) fun is being lost. Sorry for the thread drift but after a couple days for the news to settle, I’ve chilled on some Wild Turkey 101 - one of my comfort spirits haha.

P.S. Beat the Trojans for us!

Enjoying a Benchmark Full Proof Boulevardier last evening while grilling a tri tip on my new Weber that my wife gave me for my birthday.  Benchmark FP neat is hit and miss for my palate; sometimes it's delicious butterscotch candy and sometimes it's just young and hot.  But it really shines in this cocktail - 1.5 parts bourbon, one part each of Campari and sweet vermouth with a citrus garnish over ice.  Delicious!

It's quite good. This is one that was purchased a few years ago or more as we don't see them outside lotteries any more.

BT is hitting the spot tonight.

I forgot to post about Wednesday, so here it goes. There was some nice surprises at bourbon and cigar night. Things were kinda up in the air to start because only me and @JerseyDon were gonna be there. However, a couple of old bowling buddies stopped by. These two bowled with me, Don and @Vosgar. A very nice surprise. A couple of newer acquaintances also showed up. We started with a beer or two, then graduated to bourbon. Pours enjoyed were Jefferson’s. (The Legion has too much, so it’s on special. We’re trying to help the Legion get rid of it. 🙃)  Samples brought and shared were Magnus Cigar Blend. Not sure which batch, but it was great. Nice job as always  @WhiskeyBlender. Last but certainly not least was a sample from a tax stamped liter of Old Fitz BIB. It was great too. Another good Wednesday. 😎

I'm very happy to hear that you guys enjoyed some Cigar Blend! It also sounds like a lot of other good pours that evening too! 😉😋

Just weird. Poured a OF 1920 neat and went outside with the dog. 80 degrees. Severe candy corn and sweet, delicious couple of swills, all the same. Come inside, into the AC  and the candy corn is not evident. Need to drink outside more!!!

I know a lot of people love it

I love the 10y bourbon and the BP rye. Not terribly into the others. Haven't tried the 20y yet.  Each of my children objected to being swapped for a 2 oz pour - it ain't cheap!

While we were in Louisville on Saturday, we had a pour of Van Winkle 10 for after dinner.
