No kidding!

@LCWoody do you have a favorite amongst those bottles?

Happy Turkey day  🦃

Tonight my favorite was the 1996 split label. About a month ago I had a few of these bottles  sbs and it was the CGF. Crazy how it changes.

Clear but chilly day in the mid-Atlantic.  Hence, I stayed inside to do T'giving clean-up, some laundry, and some planning for Spring planting of the veggie garden (designed new raised beds , figured out how much lumber to buy for them, etc., and blocked out some December days for the actual work).  ALSO, watched OSU vs. Mich (GREAT game) and am now watching Auburn/Alabama while sipping pours from0ne of several 4R SmBSelects I bought on sale yesterday.  Life is so fat . . .

Spellage of course.

Was a "top shelf" kinda night at a friend's last night. Couldn't even get to everything.  Highlights were PVW15 (killed the bottle) and WLW2017. Lowlights were the 2XO and a 9 year purple top. A 10 year purple top and the Lux Row 4 grain get honorable mention.

Hmmm, that bar top and glass cabinets behind look kinda' familiar.  Did I miss my invitation in the mail???  🤣

And to think - all I had last night was a turkey sandwich as I finished off my summer freezer bottle of FRYL.  Ahhhh, the memories of hot times in The Lou bring tears to my eyes . . . .  🥰

It was a last minute decision. I don't think you'd have made it in time! But yes you've been to that bar. You actually came up in discussion.  That Bardstown Discovery look familiar?

Nothing special for me.  Well, except for FRSiB KSBW from the bottle with the fancy new label while watching the Bills-Eagles game.  This is just a warm up for the Hallmark Christmas at the Biltmore movie.

However, the highlight of the night for me is my 92 year old MIL went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant tonight.  My SIL texted and said "Mom ordered a margarita."  To be honest, I am not sure mom even knows what a margarita is.  This place is famous for large margaritas.  Well, my MIL couldn't finish it.  No, I am not sure if she was full or plowed.  However, when it came time to go, my SIL told her that she couldn't take it with her since you can't carry out open drinks.  My MIL proceeded to pour the rest of the margarita in the to-go cup she had requested for her lemonade and said "ok, let's go."  That's one of the reasons why they are known as the Greatest Generation.  😀😜😎

Thanks to a car not yielding at an intersection, i had to test out my swervig skills and narrowly avoided a car wreck taking my kids to soccer practice. Just got home and had to pour a strong one to calm the nerves.

When I looked at the open bottles available on the bar (as I often do) the 1792 SP FullProof was really screaming ME ME!!! It's been a while so I forgot all the red fruits backed with a maple caramel and brown sugar hug. Sure enough hitting the right notes on this Monday night.

Revisiting the WTKS CN-F tonight. This stuff just suits my palate almost perfectly.  There are a few more CN-F bottles available where I got this one.  I don't know if I could tell the difference between this and a KS from a different Rickhouse, but something tells me I shouldn't risk it.

Must buy all the whiskey. Must hide credit card statement from wife.

I’m finding strength with the herd tonight.  Long story short,  @JerseyDon let me know that another person from his team passed away. I saw him a few short months ago at the visitation of another of his former team mates. They bowled on another team in the same league @Vosgar and I bowled in. Lord did we have a good time when we bowled each other. The rest of the league couldn’t stand it. The drinks flowed, and there was much smack talk, bs and innuendo. At the end of the night, regardless of who won or lost, it was smiles and waves and see ya next week. RIP Tony. 😢

Today, I'm going with a Larceny blend that I have recently been trying out.  It's a 50:50 blend of regular Larceny (92 proof) and Larceny Barrel Proof (123.8 proof in this particular batch, B522).  The resulting blend, at about 108 proof, has more punch than the regular offering, but is not as hot as I find the barrel proof.  This is also a way to stretch the more expensive offering (about $70 per bottle) with the cheaper one (about $25 per bottle).  All-in-all, it works for me!
