Revisiting this one.

It's pretty damn good but, is it $70.00 better than the 12 year?

Nah....

I'm thinking that the price of the 12 is not worth more than the 9. And I love the 12

The "like" is for the whiskey, not your team😉

It looks like you guys may have found a qb. I've been impressed with what I've seen of Howell.

Thanks and agreed.

Now all we need is a new GM,  coaching staff, O-line,  linebackers...

Healthy freezer pour of Triple A Ten Star.  Refilled the freezer bottle from the plastic handle, as we will head South yet again at the end of the week and I can pick up some more.

Chattanooga 2022 experimental SBBS #175

https://chattanoogawhiskey.com/product/2022-experimental-single-barrels/

More than any other distillery I've tried, these Chatt SBs vary wildly with the addition of a few drops of water. The ones I've tried start out very good then veer into directions of very, very good to flat out exceptional. This barrel 175 is one of the exceptional ones and I've only a couple pours left, maybe 1.5 if I'm feeling generous, oh hell 1 more pour!!

A store pick KC120. First opened it a month or 2 ago...was just hot and mean. Thought maybe the air would do it good. Nope.

Heading over to the neighbor’s house to teach him how to shut down his pool.  He got some ridiculous quotes and was lamenting it the other night.  It is an average backyard pool with all of the working mechanics in the garage.  I had him pick up RV winterizer to treat the lines.  He was amazed as the three gallons he bought at the parts store was 50% less than what they were going to charge him per gallon.

He is a good guy and I just hate seeing a neighbor getting “hosed”.  Hopefully he might share a pour or two of the 1970’s OGD bib that I convinced him to keep a few weeks ago.  Either way, it’s 84 degrees outside and sunny.  It will likely be the last day like this for awhile so I’m going to enjoy a beautiful Fall afternoon.
Wish me luck!

Damn!

I really, really need to get my hands on a bottle of Chattanooga whiskey.  I've read great things about them and buddy of mine, whose palate I trust, is always raving about it.

Early last year when WTRB was near impossible to find I would load up whenever I had the chance. Not being one to clear a shelf, I'd buy three and then go to multiple other TW locations to do the same. I chilled out after stashing about 12 or 13 of them.

While it did come back to being regularly available I was happy to have got them before the price increase. Pulled one out last week and I have to say it's tasting just as good as ever.

The OGD was flowing.  We have several pours while backwashing the water out and watching his wife skim the leaves.  All went well.  Cover is on, pipes are winterized, filter is draining overnight and he knows what to do next time.

He was amazed  that it only took about an hour to do and his quotes were $600-$800.  I turned down two OGDs for payment.  I know he won’t let me off on just drinks so something will be coming my way in the future.

I’m sitting here now trying to find a suitable follow-up pour but I am at a loss.  Maybe some WLW?

I'm a fan of Benchmark FP but always thought it tasted just a bit young.  Recently I saw a YouTube video where someone had put a charred oak spiral into a bottle and blinded it against some heavy hitter barrel proof bourbons and it did pretty well.  So, I thought I'd try it and ordered a couple of spirals on Amazon and put one in a freshly cracked bottle.  The package says the flavor is completely extracted after two weeks so I let it sit that long before trying it.  I have to say, it's pretty darned good.  The color is darker, the nose is more complex and the flavors are deeper and more interesting.  It almost does taste like Stagg Jr. Jr.  I think I may be on to something here...

OGD 114, going to follow with a Calumet 10. Then later on a OF 1920. It has been a bad day but this will make it somewhat better!!

Thanks for the heads up, just ordered a 4-pack on Amazon to try out.  Maybe a regular EC and Larceny would be decent to try at first.
