Wedelstaedt
Recent hulls off to the recycle bin. The WT8 obviously gets attention, but the RRSiB next to it shouldn’t be overlooked. The RR is a standard shelf bottle. The consistency of standard RRSiB is always appreciated. This John Bowman knocked over a CEHT SiB in a BSBS. So yeah, it was good. The Woodford PS was……. yawn. I’m glad it’s gone. Cheers Edited July 7, 2024 by Wedelstaedt Added photo

The rye is the best whiskey coming out of that distillery.

Well crap, you just had to go and remind me that I've never even tried WR Rye. Now you're gonna make me have to go out and buy another bottle of whiskey. Thanks a lot

Cheers I have 6 or 7 WR that I would agree qualify for yawn status, but I have solved my dilemma (drink at some point or just ignore) by adding bitters to a neat pour. Helps out tremendously. LCWoody
My 1st pour of the night is to empty a bottle of RC12y. I’m so glad I put some of these bottles up. Damn good juice.

LCWoody
Finished off a great GTS last night. Pretty amazing how a great master distiller can put such a high proof bourbon together that drinks about 100 to 110 proof, and has such a great nose.

But I like that 12 yr CS about as much as the 16, maybe even more, depending on which 16 Sib.

Clueby
That last pour was a little heavier than expected. I did share a little with Mrs. Clueby. This stuff is straight up toasted marshmallows.

Kepler
This was a solid MGP bottle, but very meh compared to my other Repeal batch 2. I'm out on these at $90+ which is the current price now in my area.

The tater dicks are drivng up prices on everything.

Wedelstaedt
A very enjoyable bottle. I do long for the days when, I could find this one regularly. Oh well. Cheers.
JakeySnakes
To the bin! JWD and WT101 have been doing it lately. The EW was good, not great, but good. Really enjoyed the EC C922. Glad I have one more bunkered.

Swamp55
A particularly good crop to put out to pasture this time (see pic below). The first three, left to right, are the last bottles of their kind in my collection. I shall certainly miss them all. The RHF was good to the last drop – a delicious whiskey with its DNA firmly in the BT family. But, I must say that I have had some single barrel releases of CEHT that I believe would likely hold their own against the RHF in a blind SBS. I found this bottle a few years ago at a reasonable price and I do not expect to find any more of this at a price I am willing to pay. The JJB is another fine pour with that BT lineage in evidence. I hate that I can’t find this anymore, as it has been a real winner in the $50 range that I have kept consistently in my cabinet for the last several years. Alas, for the time being at least, there is no more for me. The W12 is a bottle that I can get at MSRP occasionally (e.g., once or twice a year) through a LS loyalty program. Right now, though, I am tapped out on this one. Too bad, as I enjoy it a lot. The well-aged wheater category is underrepresented in the bourbon market, I believe. I guess I will rely on my stock of Rebel 10 yr. to get me through my dearth of W12. The Barrell Vantage is a relatively new offering of which I have now drank a couple of bottles. I like it, but don’t love it. At the same price, a good regular batch of Barrell (e.g., 034) is a more enjoyable pour to me. I think that, for a regular, consistent offering from Barrell, I will go with the new Foundation product which is $30 cheaper and is just more appealing to me.
