A joke that most probably dont get I toss about 90% of packaging unless it suits my storage needs by allowing stacking of (short) bottles in a cabinet. Doesn't matter if it's a super nice box on a 30 year old single malt - it's gone as soon as I get home. 7 hours ago, jvd99 said: Don’t forget to compost that packaging sleeve 3 minutes ago, Kepler said: Haha I see what you did there! That thing is already in the bin. Totally worthless pos. It won't even re-close because the clasp doesn't work for repeated closures. If it had been one of their traditional metal tins I would keep it to reuse as a container in the garage like I'll do with the old ones. Or even if it were a traditional presentation box or tube, I'd probably keep the bottle in it so at least it has a use. Instead straight into the trash it goes. Worthless "green" crap. And for those of you who don't know what we are talking about, here is the backstory. https://www.bruichladdich.com/blogs/news/the-new-bruichladdich-bottle-backstory https://www.thespiritsbusiness.com/2020/05/bruichladdich-first-scotch-distillery-to-gain-b-corp-status/ They are even using a new cork that "reduces their carbon footprint"

PaulO
Once in a while I like to try some Scotch, for a change of pace, reset my palate. So, I picked up Isle of Skye blended Scotch aged 8 years. Label says the blend contains Islay and Speyside malts plus grain whisky. First pour and I'm thinking this reminds me of Famous Grouse, but maybe a little extra something because of the age statement. Second pour and I get a taste of that Islay (what I call campfire on the beach) in the finish.

GeeTen
The Kavalan Vinho Barrique (Taiwan) is the 2015 that was the "World Whiskey of the Year" - probably one of the best I've ever had from my drinking buddy, Ian Chang - former Master distiller. Only have two (2) left. The 2024 GlenDronach "Grandeur" (Bottle #4 of 1094) is a 29yr beauty - my "poor man's" The Macallan 30. A sherry bomb of deep, intense color and flavor. The Adelphi is a "bespoke" barrel of 24yr Bunnahabhen - light color and hidden flavors that blossom with just a drop of water. And the Nikka 17 is just a plain, old Japanese whisk(e)y aged to perfection in gnarly barrels of Mizunara oak. They are all in the "Open Next" line-up for the rest of the year with friends. jvd99
Haven’t seen a Springer 12 CS on the shelf at MSRP in probably over 5 years. A random stop at my local Binnys and they had just put them out, and half gone, $120, bar code wasn’t even in the system yet. Only got one so others can have a cool find

After making a purchase for something else, I happened to see an empty box in the store's pile on my way out and then inquired if they had any. Clerk went to back and brought one out. I think mine was 110. I'm looking forward to trying it out for the first time.
Skinsfan1311
I bought this today from one of my favorite LS. Even my cheap ass didn't hesitate to pull the trigger, even at that price. I have a few pours left from batch 4 which is spectacular. This one is batch 6. I can't wait to get my hands on it!
