Unfortunately not Leigh.... In fact, I've not heard from any of mty contacts that it is at retail.... but I have heard of some of our industry people tasting it.

As posted in another thread, we now have Black Cherry - our 30 proof version of Red Stag on the shelves. Whilst it won't be a favourite with everyone, I'm still a fan of seeing any product that increases the availability Downunder

And, for our US based friends, here's a couple of photos of the shelves at First Choice last weekend. Sorry for the bad quality... I didn't want to be kicked out of the store :skep:

And yes, those prices are real :hot:

any one seen the Woodford Reserve Maple Finish locally (Brisbane)?

Leigh,

The unfortunate thing with the Maple Wood finish is that they (Brown-Forman) screwed the pricing of the Seasoned Oak when it came out. I can't remember the exact price as they are now not showing up in ALM, but I would have to price it closer to $180 than the $90 I had the Seasoned Oak at, which is why I didn't get it. I tried it a few weeks back, and I really enjoyed it, I found it to be much better than the Seasoned Oak, but I still think there is better value out there, which is why I passed.

Leigh if you would like one let me know and I will get it for you.

Scott

Cougar is what most pubs, clubs and bars tend to sell as a house bourbon and a cheaper alternative to Jim Beam White (at least here in the state of Queensland)

It's never been a favourite of mine, but I've only ever drunk it at the pub with a post-mix coke added....and if they have Jim Beam White, I'll always ask for that rather than drink the house bourbon (Cougar..)

I am amazed that people are poo poohing the Sam. Mind you I drink the Wild Turkeys since The Cougar stopped using the Bulleit style oval shaped bottles.

I loved the finish, rich and creamy with a hint of what I would call 'banana/vanilla" fruity esters.

Can the shape of the bottle affect the taste of the Bourbon??? lol

I'd definitely rate it above Jim Beam White label.

Hi Guys,

Spiros head office has a new boss, and wants to clear out my beautiful spirits. So there are 8 bottles of Woodford Reserve Masters Collection seasoned Oak left (last in the country) for $99 per bottle. Get in before there gone :(

Sounds like a great deal Neil.... especially considering how high the Sweet Mash is selling for (Approx $200 a bottle)

Does that mean you'll be clearing out all of your harder-to-find bourbons, or just the WR?

Hey mate, do you know how much shipping to Sydney would be? Also how does this compare to the Maple finish in your opinion?

Yesterday Jim Beam Australia announced the following on Facebook:

"Big tease: 3 huge announcements coming from Jim Beam in the next week, first one tomorrow."

Today they posted that the first new product due out next week is Jim Beam Honey! We know one of the other 2 products will be Devils Cut, but I can't work out what the third one might be.

yeah Devil's cut in Liquor Land in WA. Interestingly its 45 %

Yep, kudos to Beam for decided to buck the trend of down-proofing our releases and keeping this one the same as the US release

I'm in no rush to buy it. If I see it at a bar, I'll give it a go.

Other than PVW, Burwood has nothing other than entry level so I go to Nick's.
