I just so happens that I have both a 750 and a liter of BT on hand..  My wife likes to drink it out of the freezer:}

The liter bottles are usually sold to restaurants and bars.  Found mine at the local LS (Kahn’s).   Manager told me that he cannot even advertise that he has these.

“The liter bottles are usually sold to restaurants and bars.”  👍 I rechecked the bar at my American Legion Post. Yep. They had liter bottles of BT and MM. Our manager is fairly frugal when she can be. The cost-price ratio may only differ slightly from 750’s, but penny’s add up. I believe 1.75’s are mostly out of the question because of their size and weight.

Also and FWIW, many years ago I stopped by Kahn’s a couple of times on my trips to Bardstown. Pretty nice store. One time one of their private selections came home with me. 😉

Liter bottles can be funny with their pricing.  I've noticed some brands charge much more just for that size.  Other brands, it's proportional to the 750ml price, or a good deal.

I recall something about bars using the liter bottles because it makes inventory easier.

I just had the occasion (and the free time) to watch the 1988 film, Who Framed Roger Rabbit.  There's a scene where Eddie and Roger escape Judge Doom via Roger's over the top reaction to drinking a double (in this case, completely full rocks glass of) bourbon.

The brand imbibed was never disclosed, but a few seconds later in the scene, several bottles self-destruct with the sheer energy of the moment, and behind one of them is a bottle of good ol' Wild Turkey, which remains intact.
