jburlowski
A Lot B to replace the one I recently finished, a Baker's to get re-acclimated (I'm going to be on the road a lot over the next few weeks and this is usually the best I can find in restaurant bars), and a Weller Cenrennial (one of my favorites). melting
Finally broke down and purchased a bottle of George T. Stagg this afternoon. Never tried it, heck never even heard of it until I started lurking here. I figure for $49.99 it will burn my boots off (that's good by the way), or I'll be dissapointed after all of the build up and hype. It was the last bottle on the shelf so I didn't want to second guess myself later. There was still quite a bit of the Sazerac 18, Eagle rare 17, W.L. Weller on the shelf. Seems like Stagg's the better seller. Strange though, I have not been able to get OGD 114 anywhere around here for months. Go figure.Chris

They're all quite different from one another, but all of them are top-top-shelf pours. $49.99 is a better price than in Chicagoland, for that matter... doubleblank
I am in San Antonio visiting my family for the holiday. My mother wanted some Dulseda....a sweet cream style liquer. So i volunteered to run up to the local store and get her some. Of course, I had to go by the "locked up" whiskeys in their cabinet. Both Pappy 23 and Pappy 20 were there.....but did that say Lawrenceburg? Yes it did. So I walked out with a bottle of Dulceda, a Pappy 23 Lawrenceburg for $179 and two Pappy 20 Lawrenceburgs at $95. I even left one there.....so anyone traveling to San Antonio.......I might give you a map. PS This is a major chain in SA, so there may be others available here too.Randy

VERITAS
As a Californian, there are a lot of bourbons that are pretty hard to find (at least around where I live) - but this weekend we are out in Colorado to visit the wife's parents - so I was able to pick up a few bottles that are rarely seen in my neck of the woods:Van Winkle 12 Yr Lot BPappy Van Winkle 15 YrGTS 2006WLW 2006Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey (anyone in CO every try this??) gr8erdane
Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey (anyone in CO every try this??)As a matter of fact, a bottle made its way to KBF via yours truly and was pretty much described by the concensus as being pretty raw and needing more time in the barrel. Julian Van Winkle tried it and pretty much summed it up when it was quickly spit onto the rose bush next to the gazebo. Not a bad first effort in my estimation but not worth the money (50+) for more than a novelty. My question, being only three or four months living here is where did you find the GTS and WLW? Have yet to run into them sitting on the shelves in the Boulder area.
VERITAS
I figured as much about the Stranahan's, but figured it would be worth the novelty for friends back home to try. I found all these at Lukas Liquors in Lone Tree - They had the rest of the BT 2006 collection as well.... and quite a few bottles of each.
DrinkyBanjo
Today I stopped by a little out of the way liquor store and low and behold ORVW 15. Yoink! That had to come home with me. I was talking to the owner and he said he had about six of them and some guy has been purchasing them slowly, one at a time. I asked if he had anymore and he said he didn't. He did say if I liked this Basil Hayden is even better. I walked out with the ORVW.
BobA
Strange though, I have not been able to get OGD 114 anywhere around here for months. Go figure.ChrisThis was the situation I saw in my usual haunts for the past few months. Then I stopped in a newer store on the outer edge of the metro area and found 6 on the shelf. Got one, ostensibly as a gift, but if my stash runs low before visiting the intended recipient . . . .They seem to be distributing, just not quickly.Bob

FlashPuppy
Well, I have been away for a while, visiting with my GF's family in Rhode Island, didn't have a chance to do much hunting. I did pick up a bottle of Buffalo Trace though. I hope to do some hunting while here in Indiana though, and I am going to stop by Binny's in Chicago as well. cowdery
I had the opportunity a few days ago to visit the famous Cork 'N Bottle #1, which is at the first exit south of the Brent Spence Bridge (I-71/75), just south of Cincinnati in Covington, KY. This is the store where A. H. Hirsch Bourbon began. They still have the 16-year-old in stock, at $99.95. I passed. I did, however, buy the following and, FYI, they have more of all of the following in stock.Four Roses Yellow - 17.99Sazerac Junior - 24.99Rittenhouse BIB - 15.99Weller Antique SB #4 - 17.99Van Winkle Rye - 36.99Woodford 4 Grain - 79.99They had a couple of single barrel store selections from Buffalo Trace, such as the Weller Antique I bought. They also had what appeared to be a full assortment of the KBD "Vintage" bottlings, both the bourbons and ryes. It was the first time I ever saw the 4 Grain on a store shelf. It's a very nice store with a very good selection of everything. The people are friendly. The prices are a little high compared to, say, Liquor Barn in Louisville, but a bargain compared to Ohio. It's obvious from the store's location that it does a large cross-river business. Geo
Got a Bottle of George T Stagg 140 proof. Cannot believe I found it! And a bottle of my old stand by.... Weller Antique 107.
SingleBarrel
Another bottle of George T. Stagg. I could only manage to make my first one last 30 days - I'm usually more disciplined than that, but heck, it was Thanksgiving, and we had turkeys to deep fry! Also, an Eagle Rare 10 year old SB, and EC 12 Yr. That should restock me for a while.
plaidford
Picked up a Lot B (my first), an Old Weller Antique 107 (Louisville - gold-veined bottle), and a J.W. Dant BIB.I've found myself buying more bourbon than I'm drinking lately and have created a bit of a backlog in open bottles. I think I've got 13-14 open right now and would like to empty a few of those before opening new bottle -- but it's hard to sit looking at some of these without opening them! gothbat
For years I’ve stopped at the same liquor store on my way home from work every single Friday except for the past 2. When I was in there today the first thing I spotted, from the door practically, was the 2006 BTAC minus the GTS. Was talking to the guy who works there and he said they came in, yup, you guessed it, 2 weeks ago. I had already stocked up anyway but it just figures because this place has the best prices around here. Anyway, I picked up a Thomas H. Handy just for the hell of it. jburlowski
An ETL to replace a 'dead soldier" and a Weller Centennial becaue I've got friends coming into town this weekend (It's my favorite sittin' and talkin" bourbon). Also grabbed a super-cheap Corner Creek off the close-out shelf on my way out.
