TNbourbon
In honor of Easter, I'm resurrecting a defunct whiskey -- the Michter's 101-proof bottling from the pot-still decanter -- and find the apple-fruitiness that I associate with Michter's to shine through today. While tasting from this decanter last fall during the Festival, several of us decided this might be whiskey distilled elsewhere besides the Schaefferstown plant, but since then I'm not so sure. With some time in the glass (and accompanying aeration), it strikes me as pretty similar to the standard Michter's from that era. In any case, very good whiskey. I might just open one of my gold-foil Hirsch 16yos to supplement it, creating a decanter of 1:1 whiskey which has proven by past experimentation very fine indeed. SBOmarc
Pappy 20, a WTRB and then ended with a Saz Jr. They all tasted just like they were supposed to.
Ubertaster
Last night I had a pour of the bottle of the month selection William Larue Weller 06. It is still the nicest pour I have in my collection.bj

TBoner
A vatting of sorts...trying to finish a couple of things up.3/4 oz. Evan Williams (current bottling)3/4 oz. Heaven Hill 86-proof 4-yr age statement (bottled 1980)1 oz. KC (current bottling)1/2 oz. OGD BIB (current bottling)Two distilleries, four distinct flavor profiles. This is my first vatting, but it's pretty good. The Heaven Hill 4-yr has more age than its label states, and it's right on the edge of musty. It's pulled back by the other whiskies and rounded out by the KC. The OGD was the last addition, trying to up the rye spice. I'm sure I'll get better at vatting, but I'm pleased with my first effort. wskybnt
OGD BIB tonight. This has very, very quickly moved up there to one of my fav's for everyday pours. It used to be WT 101 was hands down the best for the $$$, then Weller Ant 107 joined in, and now I have to add this BIB Grand Dad in there with best buys....
