Just checked the calculator and it comes out to just a little of 115 proof. I guesed at around 120 so I wasn't too far off.:grin:I use spring water, room temp. However, the '07 WLW, which I'm liking more and more, is a okay for me and the buds.
NickAtMartinis
Just switched over to some PVW20 which I'm finding to be a bit sweet but still pleasurable. Though, this will be my one and only pour of it for the night.WLW, here I come.

polyamnesia
HOSED down the STAGG to about 116.66 proof......... it still presented a complex conundrum to the tongue.but still, after that mythic stumble thru the fog, i found comfort and more comfort in that biting, lovely pour of WT RR 101. this stuff is stellar. or/and WT is spliced to my chromosomes...i simply love everything they've put out so far.but then, i've yet to try to RBreed...or the mythic 12....... HighTower
Last night I had to christen an EWSB mint julep cup, and I had to do it right, so I used some 95 EWSB!Scott

Virus_Of_Life
Please raise your glass because we are celebrating!!#1 Jeremy's home safelyI'll drink to that! Welcome home Jeremy. Assuming SD is still home we'll have to get together for a pour when I am finally back in SoCal...I am in Minneapolis tonight, had dinner downtown with my girlfriend and a pour of Bookers followed up with Bakers. Then bumped into, literally, Daunte Culpepper in the lobby of the Marriott downtown, he and a couple other players whose names escaped me at the immediate moment were going up in the elevator at the same time as us. Damn, those are some big boys!I have officially decided it is the tour the country and find a new place to live business trip
mgilbertva
Some Sam Houston, which really appealed to me tonight for some reason. I'm usually kind of neutral on SH, but tonight it hit the spot. I followed that with EWSB '96. Fine whiskey.
TBoner
you've got 14??? yow!what was the range of prices you paid?and when did you purchase the last bottle of WT RR 101?just curious...i am REALLY liking it ALOT on second pour. i know i will need more.....now to just pace it...between Stagg, ER 10...No, I didn't get 14. I got 18. But two went to another SBer, one is gone, and one is open. Hence, the bunker holds 14.:cool:I paid between $22.99 and $31.99. FWIW, the last price is not too high IMO given the quality of the whiskey, but I wouldn't have bought this many had they not been mostly at the low end of the scale. I really like the RR101, and it is very close to a Top 5 bourbon for me. The WT12 gold and split are both better, but not by much IMO.The last bottle I got was this week, and there is one more that I know of priced at $29.99 here in town. But I won't buy it. The guy who has it jacked up the price four weeks ago because I bought 2 bottles. When he went to reorder, he discovered the price has gone up...you know, on the bottles he hasn't ordered yet.:hot: It's not like his price on the bottle he's had for five years went up. So, yeah, he ain't gettin' my money.Anyway, last night I had some of the new WTRR Rye and some '07 Handy Rye (amongst others). No detailed notes as of now, but I liked both. HighTower
After emptying the contents of a Basil Hayden's bottle, I decided to fill it's spot with something I haven't tried before.Enter Eagle Rare Single Barrel 90 proof. I became well acquainted with this pour last night, and found it very impressive.Scott
bigtoys
Truly enjoying Four Roses Single Barrel on the rocks this evening. I'm really glad that they decided to come to Illinois. As I submit this, I think I'll go for another pour.
CrispyCritter
Handy is a little too big...I'm discovering that over 100 proof is beyond what I really like. Just means 1 cube of ice for the Handy/Stagg seems to do it well.Think of it as "whiskey concentrate." I could take Handy OK, but Stagg works best for me with a splash of water. It doesn't lose one iota of its character.
FlashPuppy
Just had myself a nice little pour of some WLW '05. I wanted just some WT101 or JBB or something really simple, however my bunker is the only bourbon I have here right now...I think the WLW outdid my taste buds. I gotta work myself back into this stuff...
NickAtMartinis
I'm throwing back some '06 GTS with a bit of water (five parts GTS to one part water). It's very good and am liking this more than the '07.Watch, tomorrow I it will be viceeee verseeee.
CrispyCritter
At the moment, Hirsch 16 gold wax. Earlier, ER101 and Old Fitz 1849, and I also got around to opening a WT101 that had had escaped my notice until now.
TNbourbon
...I think the WLW outdid my taste buds. I gotta work myself back into this stuff...Nothing wrong with your tastebuds, Jeremy -- though, perhaps, your memory:grin: . Alcohol and wood were the primary features, without dilution, of the original Larue.

snakster
Last night was four roses small batch. It was very tasty. However....I'm no expert by any stretch of the definition or in the remotest of fashions, but the finish seemed pretty short compared to virtually everything else I have been drinking lately. That could be just me. The taste was good, but was gone rapidly (I assume that's the definition of a short finish....see, I told you I wasn't an expert).
